Ramirez has recorded 5 outs on 16 pitches. That ain’t workin’…Money for nuthin’

He’s been dealing for about half the year. Certainly he’s been very good for Washington, so no surprise that he’s having a good time facing this lineup right now. Hopefully he’ll be out soon.

Redbirds have had that precise same hit as a GRD all season long.

That’s truly amazing, TD…….how does one drill 30 dingers and yet only amass 59 RBI? Almost seems impossible. Well gang, the neighbors just left so I’m all yours for the remainder of this game……lucky you huh.

Montgomery exits in the 7th after giving up a tying triple. He cannot win this game, but can lose it…… crying shame.

JoJo Romero enters…..I love JoJo….. let’s hope I don’t lose those feelings tonight.

JoJo gets the job done as usual.

Anybody know how many years of JoJo control the club has?

Erasmo might finish this game, he’s looking so comfortable out there. We really need to hope that we can get someone else in Washington’s bullpen out there.

Bad break. Just couldn’t keep it on the IF.

The Cards were bound to lose one with Monty on the mound. Just so happened that they’ll do no better than a split against one of the worst teams in baseball. Memphis probably could split with the Nats. The Cards needed to be better than this.

Gally into the game(8th inning) ….. he’s been pretty darn effective of late. Call at 2nd base with 1 out. Whiffs Thomas, but in steps the ever dangerous Joey Meneses….. let’s stay with the action shall we?

Meneses hits a one-hopper to Gorman’s left….and off his glove it goes just a few feet away, but by the time Gorman retrieves the ball, it almost resembles gravitational pull summoning Call safely on in and Washington has themselves a 2-1 lead

Voit……oh my!…..that ball is throttled deep to left and the only energy that O’Neill will exert will be a big rolling of his eyeballs as that ball is long long gone…..4-1 Nats

Cruz smokes a base hit to center and maybe it’s time to send Gally to the Gallo’s……yes they’re coming to get him.

    Pitching change.

    Thompson your new Redbird hurler.

Garcia dumps a short fly into right….. that’ll fall just inches in front of the charging Nooty and now the ball briefly gets stuck in Nooty’s webbing and that little snafu will give Nelson Cruz just the right amount of time to put run #5 in Washington’s scoring column and now we’re going to need a big time late inning comeback to pull this one out.

Vargas rolls a routine roller out to Goldy and he’ll successfully shuffle the ball to a sprinting Zack Thompson to retire the side.

Guys? Yes, I consumed all of that. One piece of chicken, one piece of meatloaf, two helpings of mashed potatoes/gravy, two helpings of dressing, one of green beans, and one of noodles. A bowl of blackberry cobbler, one small bowl of apple stuff, and a big bowl of chocolate soft serve ice cream. Then a cigar on the porch afterwards. I usually feel full the rest of the day.

4-1 Nationals on a long dong by Voit. This one is in the Loss column. Still will be 8.5 up on Milwaukee. Time to light up another cigar and watch Emergency.

Well gallegos has one of his off nights. In the end, we just havent hit the ball well enough to win. Monty pitched really good I thought. I think Woodford might have been a better choice being we didn’t have lead but oh well. Sad that we are going to have to play for a split with this team but it is what it is. Oh now they put Woodford in, not sure we deserve him.

Cards do nothing in the 8th and Woodford on for St. Louis in the 9th. We need to hold them in check here. The Reds once had a Woody Woodward…….why can’t we have a Woody Woodford?

Woody Woodford gets the job done…..we head to the inning of reckoning in a 5-1 Washington ballgame.

I just briefly scanned Woody Woodward’s career stats and boy!…..we thought Knizner didn’t have much power. Woody was an infielder and in 2424 career plate appearances, he whacked just 1 home run……which leads one to speculate one thing …..was his lone ML homer of the inside-the-park variety? Anyone know how we could find out?

A single and a walk has the Cardinals chirping with confidence to open the 9th. Finnegan pitching for Washington. Arenado at the dish….in a situation such as this, I would almost want him to get a walk or single instead of a homer……and we’ll have to settle for a ground rule double down the right field line…..5-2 the new score with runners at 2nd and 3rd and absolutely no outs…..now we’ll take that homer. I think it wise to stay with the action…..shall we?

Dickerson grounds out to 2nd scoring one….5-3 with a runner at 3rd and one out.

    O’Neill on 3-2 walks.

Gorman……this is your time to shine kid…. he’ll have to shine another time as he strikes out swinging…..ouch that hurt!

Yadi our last hope … lines a base hit to left….5-4 Nats your new score with O’Neill stopping at 2nd base.

Eddie whacks it deep to left!….Call races back and leaps…..off his glove….in trots O’Neill with the speedy Deluzio racing around 3rd and he’ll score … ballgame!

    Your Fantastic Final Score:

    Washington Nationals 5
    St.Louis Cardinals 6

He sure is, Oliver. And both TD and GameCard have to be dancing in the streets as we speak.
