7:05 p.m.
RHP Adam Wainwright (9-8, 3.11) or TBA vs. RHP Adrian Sampson (1-3, 3.51) or TBA
BSM // KMOX
Also BSSE and BSSW+August 21, 2022 at 9:09 am #196732Wainwright listed as starter for both games of DH?? Seems like a bullpen game for one of these, maybe Pallante/Thompson/Liberatore.
August 21, 2022 at 9:11 am #196733Also, is a 5 game series with a double header MLBs new trend when we visit Chicago?
August 21, 2022 at 10:36 am #196742Hopefully the starts of future seasons won’t be delayed like 2022. That caused oddities like this one.
August 23, 2022 at 9:59 am #197196I think Woodford is starting Game 2 tonight. Our board should be in a raucous celebratory mood for that.

stlcard25ParticipantIt’s like making a trade for Max Scherzer, really.

August 23, 2022 at 11:59 am #197217Woodford finally getting a start. I hope he takes full advantage of the opportunity.

ParticipantOkay Mr Woodford…. do your stuff….. or else you’ll make some guys here look bad. Myself included.
August 23, 2022 at 6:03 pm #197301Sometimes I have the day games on my phone when working in the office, which was the case today. But I had a meeting this afternoon and never did tune in. Sounded like it was a repeat of last night, only they got a key hit or two instead of us.
Need to get the offense back in gear.
August 23, 2022 at 6:27 pm #197302Predictably, the Redbird manager has shuffled the line-up quite a bit for the nightcap. I’ll let someone else post the line-up simply because I would never take food off anyone’s table in the form of stealing their work…
GO REDBIRDS!
August 23, 2022 at 6:53 pm #197303Anyone ever watch a program that comes on right before the Cardinal broadcast called, “The Card Life?” The young guy on this show seems to make a pretty lucrative living wheeling and dealing sports trading cards. Sadly, I lost track of all my baseball cards at almost the precise time that I began tracking and chasing the cuties. I did save and still have stacks of game ticket stubs (do they even still have those?) lots of used and autographed scorecards, 3 WS programs, and I still have the only foul ball that I ever snagged which came off the bat of Bret Boone, the older brother of Aaron and son of Bob Boone, that I was fortunate enough to pick in a ’94 weekday afternoon game vs. the Reds. Took me until my mid 30’s to finally get one. In any event, if I’d have hung on to all those old trading cards, I could get rid of my old PU truck and buy me a new Caddy…

ParticipantWell since we are playing the cubs and pujols not playing, I wasn’t planning on watching but Woodford getting start so I will tune in for some.
August 23, 2022 at 7:16 pm #197306Good decision, bad outcome.
August 23, 2022 at 7:19 pm #197307Wicket fence…
August 23, 2022 at 7:22 pm #197308Still toiling away here at the salt mines. Wish I could game thread it with you all. Very sweet catching a foul ball…….good job TD! In my lifetime, I have attended pretty close to …….just a guess here, but around 600 ML games. And never once have I caught a foul ball. The closest I came to getting a real foul ball was attending a Brewer – Red Sox game as a very young lad. I was watching Luis Tiant warming up out in the outfield pen at Milwaukee County Stadium and I was pestering Luis to fork over a ball……and then he made a beautiful motion like he was flipping me the ball, but no dice, he kept the ball and smiled at me. If I were to run into Luis out in public today, I would think of something to return the favor and royally fake him out in some fashion as payback.
Don’t worry about this game, gang….. we’ll get em good.
August 23, 2022 at 8:01 pm #197311No score after three.
What happened to this teams offense?
One run through their last 21 innings?????
August 23, 2022 at 8:03 pm #197313Pugs…I’ll be darned. Lousy move by Tiant! You know, ballplayers toss baseballs to fans like they were candy at the end of innings nowadays. They never used to do that when I was a kid. The first time I noticed it to be the latest craze was directly after the strike and WS cancellation of ’94-95. I’ve always thought that after the PR hit that MLB took as a result of that protracted labor dispute, that possibly part of the plan to endear fans back to the game was tossing all those baseballs to fans. In any event, I still don’t think it’s a genuine snag of a game souvenir unless you have to scratch and claw to get it, and I also definitely think it doesn’t count if you’re over 12 and you snag it with a glove…Haha!
August 23, 2022 at 8:08 pm #197314After a brief famine, the taters are coming in bunches!
August 23, 2022 at 8:13 pm #197316Taters by Arenado and O’Neill!
Redbirds up 3-0!
Need more. This game won’t end 3-0!
August 23, 2022 at 8:16 pm #197317Ratsbuddy…Yessir! Time to get greedy. I’ll take ’em fried, boiled, or baked…Just keep them taters comin’!
August 23, 2022 at 8:20 pm #197318I’m confused…didn’t see De Jong on the lineup card.
Please explain
August 23, 2022 at 8:23 pm #197319Haha…I don’t see LeGrand tonight. He must be shakin’ a tail with Ellie May or watching Jed and Jethro as they’s rasslin’ that gorilla!
August 23, 2022 at 8:23 pm #197320Haha…There he is!
August 23, 2022 at 8:24 pm #197321Noot should have scored on that hit by Donovan when the RF dropped the ball. Poor base running there.
