Well I kind of thought they should let woody finish the inning but our guys are kind of rested. Stratton did a nice job finishing the inning off. So Woodford gives up 1 in five n a third. About what his numbers suggest which is good pitching. He may not blow your socks off but he gives the team a chance to win his games. To me that’s a pitcher. Hopefully this isn’t some one off but I don’t know. Management just seems to always be looking for shinier things when they already have a diamond.

Two nice turns today by the SP’ers and BP to this point. Too bad the bats were asleep in the opener.

Woodford was good Willie. Looked to me like he was tiring and starting to leave the ball up. That guy baby bears have Espinosa is scary. His throws are going all over the place. Need a catchers gear to bat against him.

Well Wooster, that may be that he was tiring. But he uses the high part of the strike zone a lot anyway. I also felt he could have gotten out of it. You noticed marmol let liberatore stay in and give up the two extra runs. Which goes against the eye test and numbers all around. I for sure trust woody more than liberatore at this time. Libby may work into a good pitcher but right now I have more faith in woody getting out of the inning he was in a lot more than I trust liberatore.

We have missed some chances to really open things up, need to get it done this inning.

Guess he can’t get anybody out unless they’re terrified to be batting.

I always like to see Pujols swing a bat, but I’m not sure this PH AB is necessary. Oh well, give the paying gate what they want to see.

Tommy got a wallbanger Lotta insurance now! Yeah Willie I think Woodford did really well. He’s really coming along. May be trying to groom him for a starting role. Not too much til hes ready.

Tough night for Goldy. He makes two outs in one inning, strikes out, then hits into a double play against Franmil Reyes.

Dodgers lead the Brewers 4-0 after three innings. A three run dinger in the 2nd by Trayce Thompson off of Burnes the big blow so far. Game not over yet.

    Stay tuned…….

If you are not going tô give Packy work with a 10 rum lead might as well send him tô Memphis and leave Romero up here. Can add Fernandez until Helsly gets back.

Goldy’s bat started looking a little slow to me a couple games ago. Needs an extra helping of spinach and probably a little rest wouldn’t hurt. 30 games in August compared to 26 in September.

Good win. Slightly makes up for losing earlier. Pitching overall was good. Let’s win the series tomorrow.

Hat tip to Corey Dickerson with four hits tonight. He has hit much better since the all star break.
