Also BSSW+ in Oklahoma and Arkansas and BSSO in TN, KY and MSI believe Mahle is going in this one for the Reds. And we caught another break last night when the Giants downed the Cubs again. Final score was 8-5. Milwaukee is sneaking up on the Cubs and has now snuck past us as well. They are one game out and playing the coldest team in baseball now, Arizona.
And once again, the two middle of the order bats that we thought were going to carry us are doing just the opposite. Goldschmidt is barely hitting .240 and Arenado is in a 1-22 slump. Oh wait, I forgot, batting average doesnt mean anything anymore. They have a combined ARU of 4.87 and a ZTR of 15.53 so they are totally producing.
Din-din today is a Hungry Man’s rib dinner. Then a bowl of homemade ice cream afterwards. All of this at first pitch today. After din-din it will be time for a cigar as me and Whitey Herdog tune in from the couch.

Well, its June and I still don’t have a read on the Cards or the Cubs or the Brewers.
I do know that the Cards entire starting rotation has to among the most fragile in MLB.
Lets face it. Since the first half of the 2015 season we’ve been treated to mostly average baseball from the Cards.
So far so good, first two innings.
Din-din was very common tonight – steak, french fries and a salad. Another inning or two and I’ll go make myself a chocolate sundae.

That hurt … needed to find a way to plate at least one run out of the bases loaded situation.
Shildt opts to pinch hit for Oviedo and now Helsley will enter the game.
Stinks to have multiple extra base hits in an inning and still only score one run. The team is just not taking advantage of opportunities lately.
Does anyone know why Schildt pinch hit for Oviedo opting to bring a struggling middle relief core in the game as oppose letting Oviedo ride it out and resting some arms. And btw, what was the offensive result for pinch hitting? I honestly don’t know. I’m at work so I’m not watching the game.
