That was a nice win. Great pitching, a big hit and some great base running by bader to help get game tied and then a show of power in extras. Outlook on the series just improved.

It bwil be interesting to see who might close the game tomorrow. Reyes and Gallegos are probably not available.

Helsley closed on Sunday in a similar situation and slammed the door. No reason to believe he won’t get another chance. He did pitch on Tuesday, but only threw 13 pitches.

I would think that the bullpen available tonight will be Cabrera, Elledge, Webb (shudder), Woodford (who seems to never pitch at all and I can’t imagine that he’d do worse than Webb), and perhaps Helsley and Whitley.

Right on So_cal. I was in attendance last night, but was also following the PBP here with the esteemed David and wiley HammerFist. Until HammerFist mysteriously departed, he and David made for quite the 1-2 PBP punch. The likes in Cardinal PBP annals quite not possibly seen since Harry & Jack. If they do indeed surplant your’s truly in the booth, I would think the name “David and the Hammer” would be most fitting. And maybe when they are on vacation or sick or something, good ol’ Pugs could once again temporarily ride high in the PBP saddle until David and the Hammer’s return? I think I speak for all here in urging David and the Hammer to nail an encore performance once again this evening in the booth. I won’t be going to this evening’s game, so I’ll be right here following along. Go Birds!

Ah, but a three legged stool is the most stable as we navigate the rough terrain of this season. Of Pugs, there will be need of, for the OBP, but also for the SLG.

Pugs? I was wondering if you might have been in attendance last night.

And any chance Front Row Amy might be in her regular seat the next two games? If not, well, see what you can do there.
