MrperkinsParticipantJd Drew, Chad Tracy, and that oh so delicate Albert Belle.
It might help that the wife is having a girl so I have heard a million girl names the last 2 monthsApril 28, 2021 at 11:56 pm #159517Here is were you have to pitch to three guy rule sucks
Shildt was quoted by Gooold as saying he would have taken Cabby out directly after Harper if allowed.
The solution is to have a ‘fake an injury’ sign for your catcher to flash the pitcher.
April 29, 2021 at 12:56 am #159518Man idk what the solution was but he’s got to be in. That is the rule..
If they want to bean a guy tomorrow then ok but they shouldn’t start a bean brawl. We should be expecting one at least.
I mean this sums up our lefties in the pen. Outside of the hitting being so hot and cols it’s a bad thing for us and needs to be addressed via trade.

Chad Tracy
JD Drew
Albert Belle
Billy Ashley
Bobby Allison
Pete Rose
Domingo JeanBesides Bryce Harper, I think the above two distinguished gentlemen have covered every base in revealing all MLB players in the history of this great game who fit the requested criteria. Well done gentlemen!
April 29, 2021 at 2:27 am #159520Late to Pugs’ player-last-name-equals-girl-first-name challenge, but here:
Going by pronunciation and not necessarily spelling: Scott Terry, Joe Kelly, Chris Taylor, Satchel Paige, Tony Gwynn, Joe Torre, Clay Carroll, Lee May
April 29, 2021 at 5:13 am #159521You leave us speechless, Euro Dandy. How could BicycleMike and MrPerkins not thought of Satchel Paige? Tony Gwynn possibly our funniest pick thus far. Magnifico senor Dandy!
April 29, 2021 at 7:18 am #159523Quick thought on what inspired these exchanges. With Philadelphia having two of these players ( Joyce & Harper )with last names that could also serve as first names for our lady fans, wouldn’t it be wise for our Cardinals to get at least one? Lance Lynn anyone!
And Genesis Cabrera. We must tread very carefully with this young man. You fall off a horse, you hop right back on. You plunk two consecutive Phillies with just two pitches, you get right back in there the following game…. hopefully vs Harper again if he’s greenlighted to play.
April 29, 2021 at 7:39 am #159524Did anyone say former Card Dean Anna.
April 29, 2021 at 7:45 am #159525the face 3 batter rule is beyond stupid and tonight showed a major reason why…
April 29, 2021 at 8:20 am #159527Every rule change since they lowered the mound is beyond stupid.
April 29, 2021 at 8:47 am #159532Wasn’t Bobby Allison a Nascar driver?
April 29, 2021 at 9:48 am #159538Editorial at The Cardinal Nation: If Major League Baseball does not rescind its three-batter minimum rule for pitchers, allow umpires to waive the rule when player safety is jeopardized. (free) https://t.co/NMeKkmWBPY pic.twitter.com/SU1dLQaPeu

April 29, 2021 at 11:02 am #159546I agree with your intent Brian but it still would be a subjective decision that could be manipulated by someone. The entire rule should be scrapped.
April 29, 2021 at 11:02 am #159547This is bad take by Heyman. Lazy journalism.
Cardinals should send Genesis Cabrera to the minors. He didn’t hit Harper or Gregorius on purpose but he’s not competent enough to be in the majors at this point. https://t.co/SVdedgeQEn

That is what the article says…
April 29, 2021 at 11:43 am #159558Let him hit AAA players would be better, I guess.
April 29, 2021 at 11:56 am #159561Why not just walk the guy after Didi? throw up the 4 fingers Shildty? He could have gotten him out right there and then.
But he didn’t want to LOSE the game by loading the bases with no outs.
The game and rules didn’t fail anyone, placing winning over potentially hurting someone did. Winning stopped Shildt from getting him out. Period.
And to be honest, Webb I think would have gotten out of the inning anyways the way he was locked in for that inning. even if not, he wouldn’t have done worse.
April 29, 2021 at 12:03 pm #159563jager, good question. Does an intentional walk count as a batter faced? I had not considered this.
bb, why not check out Cabrera’s history of hit batters to make a more informed recommendation. Maybe one bad day at the office does not warrant a demotion.
April 29, 2021 at 12:14 pm #159564
jj-cf-stlParticipantGood point Jager. An IBB is a PA in the record books, should be in a game too, as far as the rule is concerned.
April 29, 2021 at 12:22 pm #159565Brian I meant to be questioning Heyman’s logic. I have no issue with Cabrera.
April 29, 2021 at 2:13 pm #159589Got it. Thanks. I will not comment about Casino Jon.
April 29, 2021 at 5:39 pm #159615
MrperkinsParticipantGscottar, there is a bobby allison racer but I was going with the power hitting Washington Senator/Minnesota Twin from 50’s/60’s
April 29, 2021 at 6:39 pm #159618Yes, an intentional walk does count as a batter faced. LaRussa did it in the season’s opening series in Anaheim and the announcers were talking about it.

April 29, 2021 at 6:55 pm #159619Hey man is jumping the gun on sending Cabrera out. Now if he goes all Ankiel and cannot throw strikes anymore, then that is a different story.
April 29, 2021 at 7:10 pm #159620Indeed BicycleMike. Teams need to stick together. Two errant pitches should not warrant a demotion for a young man who has pitched very well thus far. I believe Genesis Cabrera is going to be a quality hurler in this league for many years to come.
Dean Anna…..nice one, Bling.
