Any relation to Stands With Fist, Stlcard25?

2nd cousins on his mother’s side.

Jack walks the suddenly slugging Heyward.

Even if they don’t score, I did not want to see 30+ pitches out of Flaherty here in the 1st frame. We’re in trouble. Bases teeming with cubbies with 2 down.

    Ha Stlcard25!

Jack can’t seem to get the Cubs to bite on the slider. And now he gets squeezed by the ump. Gonna be hard to get out of this one unscathed. He gets it to 3-2 after Goldy just barely missed catching the foul ball. Jake Woodford is getting ready. Might be a short night for our beloved ace. This could kill the bullpen.

Ugh … thirty-eight pitches in and the Cards are down 2-0.

Gotta think that Jack is done for the night if he can’t get Contreras out.

Contreras with the two run single. I hate the Cubs.

At this pace if we get 4 solid frames out of Jack tonight, I’ll be happy. As I see these cubbies fouling off ball after ball after ball, how valuable would a guy be if he was an expert at just fouling off a bunch of pitches…ah! Contreras plates two with a solid single to center.

I can’t imagine how this is not a 1 inning outing at max for Flaherty. Can’t take the chance on his arm.

I was gonna post “just walk or hit Contreras”. Give up one. He is CHC bright spot going to RF this year. Payback for drilling Matt Holiday & Piscotty right off DL.

Not the way you want your ace to start things off in this all important 5 game series. But looking at a possible bright side, they only score a deuce. Let’s come right back at them with 4-5 runs and the mo shifts right back our way.

Welcome aboard, Supreme Leader. I think you’ll fit right in here on our game threads. You sound like you might be from Texas?

Carlson will hit (and run, catch, throw) etc. Bader has been given 1000 AB or so? Carp is the worst runner, 1B, arm, in MLB history and they keep giving him starts. Give Carlson a chance. Pure swing, looks good at entire game.

“ Welcome aboard, Supreme Leader.”. Thanks. No ratings here so you must reply. I am bit impatient with these Cards since they dropped three straight to SF in 2012 playoffs. But as a lifetime fan I’m still here? I like Schildt but MM rode the Carp train out of town, Mike doing same.

Jack is wild enough to be dangerous tonight. 4Ks in his first 5 outs.

    Finally a quick at bat.

Much better second inning for Jack. Offense needs to do something here to change the momentum.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde….I like Mr. Hyde much better as it took him only 9 pitches to dispatch the cubbies in the 2nd.

Welcome, S_L. As someone who really likes Carpenter, I may not agree with all your assessments, but I do agree that it’s time for him to sit.

We just might be getting close to putting Carp out to pasture.

Sorry for the Carp comment, Stlcard25.

O’Neill gets fooled on the big floating curve that was right there to hit. You don’t get many chances at fat pitches from Darvish. Gotta take advantage.

Will Venable? The only Venable I know is “Max”.

Sorry for the Carp comment, Stlcard25.

It’s ok, Pugs. We’ll always have Los Angeles. He should be kept around just in case we end up facing Kershaw in October.

Carlson hit one right on the nose, and somehow Baez was right there. If it wasn’t for bad luck, Dylan would have none at all.

Darvish perfect thru 3…… hopefully mentioning that will jinx him and we’ll slice & dice him for 4 big runs in the 4th.
