These Indian batters sure know how to take their at bats; let’s hope our boys are watching. Waino flirts with trouble after walking two, but then gets the 3-2 K to extinguish the Cleveland 3rd inning threat.

As crappy as this team has played all they have to do is hover around .500 and they will be in the playoff hunt. I am sure the front office knows this so they really don’t have much motivation to do anything in the next 24 hours.

Goldy’s one out moonshot to left-center bangs halfway up on the wall and he’ll trot into 2nd with a double.

No trouble putting Civale in play, every AB so far.

Not a fan of Edman in the outfield. But my guy O’Neill has not exactly lit it up, although he is making contact pretty weel. Still I keep him in the lineup day in and day out as their is thunder there just waiting to explode.

Glad MM3 is warming to the designated hitter. I have been a fan of it for a good ten years now, after bashing it for some 40 years or so.

As for the cardboard fans – I like ’em. I find myself searching the stands for a familiar face. Think I have seen Lou Brock, Lee Smith, Jeff Suppan, or maybe it was Matt Morris, and of course Jackie watching our games. Think I saw Tim McCarver too, but more of the modern day Timmy and not the ball player vintage. Oh, and the rally squirrel was sited, and another guy that might have been Tony LaRussa, although I am not sure about that guy. Might be someone else. Kind of an old guy, so maybe it is our own MM3!!

I hope these stadium vendors are being taken care of, as I wouldn’t imagine those cut-out patrons are very good tippers. Any one here have their likeness here in the stadium? Now a balk will give Goldy and the Cardinals an easy tally…
    5-2 Good Guys.

My point about Edman playing outfield was more to the point of O’Neill, Bader etc. not being able to take every day starting jobs. His profile long term isn’t what is needed in the outfield, but he is better than other options. Plus, if he is playing outfield, our third basemen is more defensively challenged.

Cardinals27 in the house! Where have you been hiding? Delino DeShields’ dad had a cup of coffee with our Birds back in the day I do believe. If I recall, he didn’t hit a lick.

Seems better with Bader and O’Neill out of the lineup?

No DH or 7n innings games for me please. 7 inning games are nice in minor league ball, when you can watch both games and head home a little sooner.

Things cooking here in the Cardinals 5th compliments of a Wong walk an an Edman single…1 out with runners poised and ready for action on the corners….Goldy bounds into a twin killing to put an abrupt end to that. 5-2 Birds

Damn those double plays! I just hate ’em. When they’re there’s that is. Love’em when they’re ours.

This F. Reyes sure is a moose….. let’s hope he hits like a lamb….and he does as he neatly serves it up to our infield in the 6-4-3 variety! That DP just may have earned Waino one more inning of labor…. we’ll see soon.

Doubles were not this easy 20-30 years ago. What’s with that! Do we need to extend 2nd base an extra foot or two too?

Well gentlemen it’s been real…..off to pickup my sweet 4 year old granddaughter…..who can now count from 1-1000 and 1-10 in both Spanish and German. Sure was nice to win that one game of this series.

A very solid start for Waino today, and Dexter Fowler must have been inspired by Waino’s birthday as well as he has had a great day.

Fowler is now hitting .274/.348/.500 and leads the Cards in HRs, with a whopping 4.

Waino is the anti-Ponce, gutting out some much needed innings to give the bullpen a break once again.
