    One thing to consider on Waino’s game last year was the amount of time after he threw that many pitches. The longer layoff might have been the cause of the poor game just as easily as the high pitch count.

    Pitchers are very routine-driven and Wainwright is no exception. One thing we do know is that given the rough schedule ahead, Wainwright should be staying on his normal schedule. If not, it would be a bad signal.

    I do appreciate and admire what Waino did. That doesn’t inhibit me from also worrying about the longer term.
