BA did a redraft of the first round in 2019. It is a subscriber article, but I found the results interesting.

In their redraft, they had the Cards picking Ryan Pepiot at no. 19. He was in reality the Dodger$ selection at no. 102 overall in the third round. The actual pick of Zack Thompson was not part of the redone first round.

At the time, one of my sons was adament that the Cardinals should have picked George Kirby. I got reminded about it endlessly this past season.

Thinking back, I recall that quite a few mock drafts had us taking Kirby as the typical college righty that we were known for.

I also see that Law had us taking Gunnar Henderson. Wish we had been as smart as Keith Law (not often that I would say that).
