Also BSSO and BSSW+Great, another debut. That means he will pitch like Cy Anderson and shut down the Redbirds. You can chalk this one up in the Lost column.
Actually I don’t believe it’s his big league debut but it has been awhile I believe.
And Pugs bench pressing 135 pounds makes me believe he needs some Catfish Fiddlers in his diet! That will get him up to 235 in a hurry!

Nah I think the Cards “chase” him in the 3rd….
Good one, ZTR. These Redlegs are like a wounded animal……and thus are extremely dangerous and should be treated as such. Let’s just get in there and sweep these guys before they know what hit them and then get right out of town.
My 135 lb. bench press was not hoisted once, but 1 1/2 times, as my two spotters helped me get the second rep up, Rat. If the catfish fiddlers will greatly increase my strength then count me in. But I prefer to catch my own fresh fiddlers. I could take a cruise down to the Rock river with cane pole and worms in tow.
I wish I could have Carters Fish, (best place in Springfield, IL for fish) but alas they are closed on Mondays. I guess that will be din din on Tuesday.
Pretty quick turn around for today’s game given that the Cards played last night instead of in the afternoon and don’t even get to stay home but have to travel.
Crappy scheduling.
Did the lads sleep in their own beds last night with travel today or did they fly to Cincinnati right after the game?
As far as bench pressing goes – unless you are kidding – back the weight off to something you can throw up 10 times and then build from there. At least you had a spotter and didn’t end up wearing the bar…
Better yet, go to a machine until you can comfortably do 10 reps with 135 then move back to the bench.
Bench press? I thought that was an activity that only appealed to an emergency catcher. “Please Lord, may I not be called upon to risk life, limb and humiliation in the catastrophic event that both catchers should have to leave the game”…
I’m reasonably certain that TO, like almost everyone else, is somewhat disappointed with his overall performance this season. But I happened to notice that in only 283 AB’s so far this season, he’s managed to collected 50 RBI’s. If you think it over for a second or two, that’s not too bad at all. I mean, a little simple arithmetic translates into the area of 90 RBI’s if he were to have accumulated 500 AB’s over the course of this season, which is nothing to sneeze at. Obviously the BA is substandard and the K’s always hurt, but he’s had some health issues and has only appeared in 80 games in ’22. He’s a GG OF’er and I’ve read accounts that claim he can out-sprint anyone on this Redbird team. In any event, we saw last night the type of productive power that he can generate with the bat and I certainly hope it continues.
There’s some thunder and dark skies here in SW Indiana about 1:30 est. I have a feeling this game in Cincinnati tonight might get delayed or even postponed. I hope not because I don’t want to see any doubleheaders at this point in the season.
ZTR? Good question about whether or not the Redbirds flew to Cincinnati late last night or this morning. Since it’s only about an hour flight I bet they went late last night.
Din-din today is a thick center cut rib chop in the air fryer, some Aces High Sweet Corn, a Pepsi, and a piece of chocolate cake from the bakery at the grocery.

Rains most likely late this afternoon in the Queen City. Looks to be a clear window between around 6p-9:30p, so we should get this game in.
Thanks for the weight lifting tips, ZTR. But if I have to do 10 reps, then I’d be benching around 80 lbs. People in the gym would be chuckling and girls would be lifting more than me……no way I’m letting the ladies out lift me in public.

Albert looking decent against righties last two months.
It’s not looking good, based on the projected radar maps, the storms won’t be ending until 8:30-9. Both teams are off on Thursday, so maybe make it up as a day game on Thursday? That could be a possibility. Not sure if I’d prefer that or a double header.

As Pugs says, statistics show the majority of them are split.
And with the Brewers hosting the Pirates this week we need at least two of three in Crosley Field!

The greater Cincinnati area weather forecast I goggled early this afternoon showed 10% chances for rain between 6p-10p. Terrible forecast!
CFICT, I have had D’Arcys aPint. Most of the food is very good, including their buffalo chicken horseshoe.

Off the top of my head remembering their teammates…..Dave Conception, Tommy Helms, Lee May, George Foster, Bobby Tolan….. cannot recall their pitchers…..oh the guy who smoked cigarettes like a chimney….. can’t think of him…..oh Don Gullet…….Clay Carroll……and of course Sparky Anderson situated on the top step of the dugout.
