Ian Philip Gibaut (#79) has somehow managed to slip under my radar all these years of observing MLB talent. My guess is he can eat 3 Popeye’s apple turnovers with the best of them — every meal.

Yea we used to have triplets here in Evansville but I wasn’t living here then. We got otters now but they are independent ball. Used to go watch but defense started getting rough and I can’t stand bad defensive play so just gave it up

Thompson sure looks like he has the stuff to stick at this level.

I’d challenge Gibaut to a Popeye’s apple cinnamon pie eating contest any day of the week, Euro. But I will not challenge him to bench press lifting contest.

Gibaut has a live arm though. Kind of wild but sometimes that’s effective

A friend of mine hurt himself bad enough to miss a couple of days work chasing a foul ball. Some of those seats are pretty robust and those anchor bolts hold them down real well in the concrete. He was pretty skinned up…Didn’t get the souvenir, either.

Bummer your pal didn’t at least come up with the ball, TD. Tell you what ….after all of these years not catching a foul ball I’m hungry for one. So much so that there’s no way I’d flip it to a kid if I were to snag one …..I wouldn’t even flip it to my own kid .

Wooster, that reminds me of the one my son got in Busch, off a Wacha pitch hit foul. It was one of those that bounced across several rows where people kept fumbling it. Finally came to us and my son snagged it. The guy in the row in front of us was the last guy to touch it before my son got it, he turned around with this look of bewilderment, almost anger, and told my son he had it. He really ended up looking like he was going to cry. He was closer to my age than my son’s age. We tried our best not to laugh in pity at the guy.

I could hit this Lopez fellow ……I think his fastball is sitting right at about the old highway speed limit of 55 mph.

And Dickerson takes him deep …..he shouldn’t be the last guy to hit one this inning.

I with you Pugs. Lifting heavy weights is overrated.

The only one I ever got was at a weekday afternoon promotion game in the early 90’s vs. the Reds. As you know, the Cardinals weren’t very good then and I’d say there were less than 15,000 in attendance. Came off the bat of Brett Boone. On a fly and never moved from my seat.

Well Woodford makes an appearance in a meaningless spot. But good to get some work I guess. Edman backs up on play at third which is a no no and they get a lead off hit.

Well I’m headed to bed, I think we got this.

I was camping last night and got home today so I didn’t catch any Cards related news. Good to see them gut out the series win over Atlanta and then win tonight like they “should.” Keep the momentum going, boys.

One thing I like…O’Neill is getting hot. He’s the kind of player who can carry an offense himself for a few weeks. Having him get going behind Goldy and Arenado would be a big big development.

Caught one once on the fly too TD1. Just sittin in my seat and reflexively raised my hand and it went right in there. Didn’t miss a lick. Like God just put it there. Had a full beer in the other hand and didn’t spill it at all. Gave it to a kid.
Well like 14 hits. Everybody contributed.Mikolas , Stratton, Thompson and Woodford all pitched well. Hit the sack early and get plenty sleep for tomorrow Cardinals. I love sleeping when its raining.
    Go Cardinals!

Wooster…Haha! I didn’t give mine away…Still have it! Took me ’til my mid 30’s to get one, so it was going home with me.

Mikolas with a clunker, GmSc of 37.

    Hat-tip to O’Neill, who over his last 7 games (6 GS) has 5 HR, and a 6/4 BB/K.

Dickerson not cooling off. Carlson looking like the 4th outfielder while the outfield is on fire.

Donovan with a 11 game hit streak is as steady as the rain.

    Impressive lineup.
