Pretty sure they only wear them in Cin. and DC anymore, but those navy blue road caps look good. Certainly a lot better than those Sansabelt waisted and no button jersey uni’s in the photo provided by our good friend LeGrand…

C27, I go half and half. If I’m down in that area I have to go for half classic burger and half chicken tender. I still have family in central IL so I get to enjoy one from time to time. The place I found here is just a pain in the backside to get to.

This could be big for the rest of the series, their bullpen will surely be spent. Not sure if they have a true “long reliever” or not.

Why can’t the Cardinals ever score 7 runs in the 2nd inning at Crosley Field?

Well our big guys make all the outs that inning. Nice to see other guys stepping up

Euro, I’ll take a 6 run inning and lead when the two best bats are both 0-2!

Good point Willie. Just to reinforce your observation, there are 7 Cardinal regulars with a ops+ of 156 OR BETTER for the month of August.

Tough lineup to get penciled into.

LOL, yes, with Goldy and Arenado in the lineup it’s hard to pull off!

Would you be willing to bet your entire fortune (however small or large it may be) that Goldy and Arenado have never made all 3 outs in an inning before. Would you be willing to bet it never happens again? Yes and yes for me.

You know it’s kind of interesting about the reds. Since Larussa became our coach, we have predominantly owned them even in seasons where they were decent. I’m sure there have been a few seasons where it was competitive but not many. Sometimes early on we have some good even contest but usually by now, we are pretty much owning them. They seem to get good players but for some reason they just don’t get it done. It’s easy to own the pirates because they are bad organization but the reds seem to have decent ownership.

That inning just exploded for us. Their journeyman pitcher just got chased but now he’s replaced with a LH at. Trying to slow us down but doesn’t help our LH lineup. See how it goes I guess. We have a nice cushion but no reason to let up
.Still very early in this game.

Pugsley have you ever seen 3 butt-uglier dudes as these 3?

    (Rose, Bench and Morgan)

Simmons was a .300 switch hitter, but Bench could hold 17 baseballs in one hand…got all the national dap

Pete Rose’s name was mentioned in the same sentence as Musial…MUSIAL!

And the final insult: Joe Morgan was later considered superior by some idiot writers over…get ready for it….Rogers Hornsby!

Lord I hated the Big Red Machine who didn’t have to play good Cardinal, Giants or Dodger teams that got old in the 70’s
Gimme 60’s Pinson and Robinson, Deron Johnson and Harvey Kean and hard throwing Jim Maloney over the Machine

This could be one of Pug’s “run-rule / call off the dogs” games. Those acts of humanity are allowed when the cubs are not the opponent.

Naw Euro its a matter if momentum.Anybody thats seen a little baseball knows how quickly and baldy things can change. A lot of ball still the be played tonight. Just heard some betting prediction on this series and it seems the Reds in the recent past have matched up pretty well against us.Something like 6 to 7 games with us slightly ahead.

Oh you can’t deny rose, Morgan, and bench were really good. Bench was one of those guys who retired fairly young but a great catcher. Morgan was never flashy but he was consistent in his greatness. I liked him and miller announcing too. Rose was just a consumate hitter and played the game the way I think it should be played. He was like cobb in that regard.
