I have a question for BRIAN of anyone who feels qualified to answer it. It seems Mo and his boys are throwing Gary LaRocque under the bus as a primary reason for our failures, although they admit they haven’t kept up with minor league advances. What have you seen in the minors that possibly has slowed the growth of our players? I must say, in the next breath, baseball writers of minor league systems still call some of our players among the very best.
Do we know any more about WHY the Cards would bring up a player with a 9.58 ERA in AAA? He certainly hadn’t earned it. There has to be more to the story.

I’m confused as to why the Cards promoted Brandon Dirkson. Was it because they didn’t want to take the better pitching away from Memphis, not that they have a lot of that to begin with? Was it a favor to Dirkson? Is his ERA not reflective of his performance in AAA?
I was just surprised. Hoping Yepez gets a shot. What are your thoughts on him?Bruce of The Villages Cardinals Nation.

On paper, Leone sounds like a good pickup for the Cards. But, why has he been with three clubs in three years, and was able to be picked up off waivers by the Blue Jays? I hope there isn’t a bad clubhouse presence involved. Four teams in four years?
