Marmol says to himself: “gee I’m the manager I better get busy and manage. I’m supposed to do something even though I’m not sure what that might be, so I’ll just over manage as I’ve always done because hey I’m the manager and I don’t want to be caught just in letting the chips fall as they will because then I wouldn’t be managing would I?”
At this rate Cardinals will finish 22-1/2 games back of the Brewcrew, 17 back of the baby bears. Oh well, there’s always next year.
Redbirds lose in extra innings? Of course they do. 0 for 4 so far in 2025. The manager, the clueless one, the Oliver is a loser. The players soak up his losingness, his anti-mojoness. Get rid of him.
Last year I was watching Redbirds lose their 7th or 8th straight game from here in Florida and the camera focuses in on Marmol in the dugout just laughing and joking around and it just occurred to me that I couldn’t see Mike Shildt reveling in the losing streak and further, I was positive if LaRussa’s team had lost 7 straight there would be no smiling, laughing or joking around going on. This season the team seemed so loose, confident and free to start the season but now they seem to have taken on the personality of the feckless one, Mr. Marmol. Seriously? This is the best the Cardinals can do. Marmol is probably in the dugout now in Pittsburgh keeping his hands warm with a nice hot chocolate.
