    No score in the 2nd.

I’m heading to the Gasthof Amish restaurant for my weekly feast. I’ll be checking the scores from time to time.

    And another horrible batting order.

I wonder how long Contreras is going to bat 2nd or 3rd before someone in the organization realizes he is not hitting and drops him in the order?

Feede walking the leadoff batter four times now is getting old.

Going into the home 7th… Fedde is pitching a no-no. 0-0 Cards with three hits. Up to the bullpens now.

Saggese being really nice costs the Cards a run. He shouldn’t have done the tiptoe after the pitcher and catcher collided, and just barged right to the plate, he had an easy shot to score.

Just now got this one dialed in and see 0 hits surrendered by Fedde thru 6 full and still all tied up at naught in the 9th. If I’d glanced at the box as recently as 10 years ago, I’d have guessed Fedde had left the game after suffering some sort of injury. Times have sure changed.

Why in the world Warner waved Siani home in the top of the 10th, I can’t imagine. The ball was to Pham before Siani even got to 3rd.

Walker inside-outs an inner third pitch to RF for the lead. A contact approach pays off.

Just arrived home from a hard day at the salt mines……watch……now after all of this, we’ll score 3 runs in the 12th and they’ll put up 4. Several questions beg to be answered. I’ll just pose a few. In this Mad Manfred era with runners getting a head start at 2nd base in extra innings, how can a game go 12+ innings withouta victor being declared….and furthermore, how can it be scoreless through 11? How many points do you think Cardinal batters lost from their batting averages after this game? Has to be around 150. And how could one of our Game Threads only have 11 posts through 11 innings? Looks like ole’ Pugsaronias is going to have to start hopping up into the PBP booth for at least a couple games a week to get these game threads clicking on all cylinders again.

It’s 1-1 in the last of the 12th now.

And as a side note……Paul Goldschmidt is currently batting .383 at the end of the day today.

And as another side note……the stock market is soaring today!

That’s 0-4 in extras after 12 games. That ain’t too cool.

And the Pirates take this one 2-1 with a run in the last of the 13th. Roycroft was on the mound and he had Bart with a 3-2 count, bases loaded, and one out. Bart singles into left center to end it.

5-7 on the year now. Time to head home and get ready for the Phillies. Oh boy…….

A Joey Bart 13th inning single sends the 3 Rivers faithful home with smiles on their faces……and extremely long ones on the Cardinal Nation fanatics.

This season has a very 2023 San Diego Padres feel to it.

Can Helsley pitch more than one inning? He hadn’t pitched since Sunday afternoon and we had the day off tomorrow. Seems like this isn’t Oli and more of upper management decision. Just spit balling here.

When you can’t score a runner from 2nd with no one out in 3 of 4 innings, and miss out on scoring from 3rd with one out in the other, you have no one to blame but yourselves. What a mess.

I don’t think much of Roycroft. Is there anyone at Memphis that could replace him? Lutous, maybe? He would have to be added to the 40 man roster, right? Or maybe Thompson?

Redbirds lose in extra innings? Of course they do. 0 for 4 so far in 2025. The manager, the clueless one, the Oliver is a loser. The players soak up his losingness, his anti-mojoness. Get rid of him.

I understand the ’23 SD comparison, but that team wasn’t 0-4 in extra innings until they’d play 37 games. This ’25 Cardinal edition is on pace for a genuine extra inning massacre that would surpass even the most horrific of extra inning slaughters ever recorded in extra inning baseball history. Like I mentioned…That ain’t too cool.

At this rate Cardinals will finish 22-1/2 games back of the Brewcrew, 17 back of the baby bears. Oh well, there’s always next year.

We are 0-4 in extra frames. And, not sure about the Boston game, but in the other three we have outhit the opponents. You figure things will balance out and we will win some of those.

Also we have a couple of games where we scored a bunch but lost, and now we practically get a no hitter pitched and we cannot score.

It’s early, but this club looks better than I thought they would be. Need to get a little better pitching, but we look to be a decent club.

Marmol is a weak link – managed last night as if we were in a tight game, then got burned today when we really were in a tight one. But a hit at the right time and we win.

Tommy Pham burns his old club.
