This here is why i cant take cardinal management seriously. An astronomical ask for and i dont care what it said, at best an average offensive player, and thats stretching it in my opinion. Hes decent defensively but lots of guys fit that description. Crazy.

I kind of agree with bling, they do give me arena football league images though i havent watched that in a while. On flipnote here, leahy got out of a tough inning. Gave up a run but could have been worse. He got lucky, some very hard hit balls on very hittable pitches. I suspect both starters are done.

Well this is on bader if the drinking is true. Driving anything while drinking is wrong, even a bicycle. I guess hes frustrated with his health, i understand, but just some things you cant do as an athlete. Will be interesting to see if he can be released and denied money over it. Lot of money to blow. If its all true, and hes released, he prob wont get another shot even if health allows it. That plantar stuff is hard on athletes.

Not too impressed by these new blue jay uniforms. Cardinals had a nice chance there with burly lead off double but not to be. He never moved.

Well hopefully matthews can keep doing what hes been doing. I wouldnt give up on libby yet but bullpen may be where he is headed. Trade deadline may sort that out.

It wouldnt surprise me if the cardinals dont move anyone. If they were really wanting to and to get good return possibly, they would have just turned catching duties over to crooks and pages. Herrera is already known, just use him as a dh. Crooks would have gotten more at bats which means his numbers might be better or at least they would tell a more complete story. Im just not sure this organization has enough people with baseball eyes. They prob have plenty of people that can quote a multitude of statistics though.

I think the cardinals have toatally squandered this situation as they do a lot of things. Crooks should be catching most every day, with pages getting some starts. Herrara should be dh everyday. You not only would have found out more about crooks sooner but other teams would have as well. So if he really shined, you might get more. Herrera works for a team specifically looking for a right handed bat with some pop but cardinals as usual overvalue him. Maybe the cardinals were falling into the trap of thinking higher of this squad than they should have far as how far they might go, so crooks was given limited time. We will see how this goes.

Jnevel, i never said jj was ok, i said he did good, maybe even great for a rookie. But keep on with that. But if you 254 is great hitting, good for you. I just have higher standards thats all.

In other more important happenings, another close game. Cards could end up splitting this series. Wouldnt have thought that after the first two games.

Batting avg is a tried and true measure over the long term. Like any stat, one game it means nothing, but over 162 it means a lot. From what i saw, there is 5 guys above 300. But what that stat doesnt tell you there is a bunch of guys hitting 280 or better. So that doesnt change the fact that anyone on the cardinald team with a name not walker or burleson are hitting terrible. This is jjs rookie year so its not a major thing for him, they put him in leadoff which is a hard spot and he should improve. Hes done fine but hes not hitting good, let alone great. So you put a bunch of guys out there avg a hit once ever 4 to 5 times at bats and expect to really score a lot of runs. Sure sometimes those hits may come together or maybe you get a lot of free passes and it happens but if you got a number of guys that consistently can put the bat on the ball you can earm your wins not hope for wins. So i dont think the game has changed that much aa far as whats important. Sure you can hit for high avg and not score lots of runs but that tells more about the people behind them, than the batter. To me i want the cardinal players to be like the team i want them to be. I want the orginazation to build a team that expects to be a winner, not hope to be a winner. I want players that want and expect to hit the ball and get on base, not players hoping to get on base. A team and players like that will be successful.

Just looking at those offensive numbers tells you a lot. Even jj the whiz kid is only hitting 254

Itd def not marmols fault, but at same time he dont get any credit for their early success

In a league made up of a lot of lefty hitters, its odd we have only one lefty relief pitcher.

Herrera fits for boston, they need a right handed power hitter, i guess u can call herrera that if u will. Now do they have something we need.

I expect may to bring us a decent prospect. Hes pitched pretty well. If he doesnt,i wouldnt trade him.

Im all for trading obrien if it gives us something better in return long term. Obrien has good stuff and if this team was in championship mode id keep him but we arent.

Believe me this team isnt good enough to throw away winnable games. If someone else came in and gave up the runs, what would be the excuse then. I dontvl see anyone to blame in this game but if you was going to dole any out, it would be on the offense but maybe thats just me being realistic.

I have no problem with players going to college, i think all should. Just for the college experience alone and the fact if they have some brains they will use college to get an education. I dont think mlb should expect that they are going to fully develope there. Different thing.

Thats fine mudville. I just feel the player that earned more and has more now potential should get paid more now.

Cardinals starter pitched well. Bullpen did good til extras. Really wasnt a bad pitch that gave up 2 of the runs in extra. . Just a better hit. Its the value of putting the bat on the ball vs striking out. Burly got a little one of those as well. The cardinals arent immensely better than the reds so overall a good matchup and game.

Pretty impressive for misiorowski. I just wonder what guys back in the day would have done if they only had to pitch 5 innings.

I meant the trade deadline not the draft. Sorry.
