Obriens stuff just isnt as good lately. He used to be almost unhittable but to me his stuff right now is very hittable. Just a matter of whether it gets hit at somebody or not.
I think holidays son will be fine but i think he swings at the first pitch way too often esp for a leadoff hitter. I understand the bunting over of the runner by the guy before him but i think it actually made the inning easier for the cardinal pitcher.
Well the cardinals coming back . Get a break, the left fielder completely whiffed on a ball. I knew they could hit this pitcher. Of course the blame is on the orioles manager as well. It was clear their pitcher was gassed. After a easy win last night their bullpen should have been rested. Cardinals just tied it up.
I dont have any problem with the name change. I can understand them wanting some new buzz and the money that new merchandise can bring. I wish them luck.
Well gorman hits one out. Wasnt surprising, they kept pitching him in the same location, even gorman could see that. This pitcher for the orioles isnt that good from my viewpount. We should score some runs, enough, whose to say.
I dont think being down 5 runs early means game over. Plenty of baseball. I was reading an article about the serues saying this was a series the cardinals should sweep and needed to alluding to somes incessant thought of post season. Its kind of funny. The orioles arent having a great season obviously but it isnt like the cardinals are head n shoulders better than them at this point or really any point other than maybe april or may. Best for these sites just to chill and focus on the path ahead.
Problem with that though is nobody is predicting anything. Also one can look better at 23 than 19 so its kind of one of those things that was said but really doesnt matter in the scheme of things regardless of who said it. All it points to is to be patient but there is nothing wrong with a little excitement.
I dont know. Seems a little too much tech for my taste but i get it. When you are watching so many athletes, you have to narrow things down i guess. Id still rather trust an old guy who just has a knack for knowing things. We did have a highly rated draft though im not so sure of it. You can evaluate a draft based on the picks you made and how they turn out however you can also judge it based on picks you could or should have made but didnt. I would be very interested in how players that we had the chance to take but didnt turn out just as much as how our players we did take do. That parts pretty easy.
I think when you have a prospect like rainiel, you should celebrate them as they move along. I dont think by doing so, that you are forgetting that hes just a prospect and the future isnt guaranteed. I also dont get into comparing one prospects rise vs another. Each is their own thing. Its an exciting time, best to enjoy it.
Im def on the rodriguez train. Now the cardinals have to follow the process and not rush him. They need to decide on his position and stick with it. Id rather not have another whose only really good for dh. Personally i hope he stays primarily a catcher.
I think burleson has beem hitting lefties just fine, prob better than herrera. Herrera is an average hitter, hundreds just like him in the league. But i know some love him, but we have let go of far better players than him.
Thats kind of a rough one. Obrien didnt seem his usual self but you figured he had enough leeway to hold it. But not the case.
I dont think the fact our farm system isnt ready to support the mlb team should not be a surprise. It really only recently has been put back together. Injuries even in good times can be problamatic. Patience and some bliss are essential to being a good reasonable fan. Im sure the same applies to being a gm. Bloom should stay the course, and reasonable fans will as well.
Well fernandez def not looking good. Sometimes things dont go well. Phillies are a solid team. I dont consider them great but they have veteran guys. Just tip your hat n see how tomorrow goes. Save the best parts of the bullpen.
To me this inning speaks loudly to what ive always said about hitting. People talk about power numbers and strike outs not being a bad thing and just putting the ball in play not always a good thing. But this inning has proven that putting the ball in play and not trying to do too much is a very good thing. It dont always work that way, but ill take those percentages.
I dont think thr cardinals are stuck in the middle. Their system is strong, i just think the fact the cardinals are close to the playoffs and the team has played well at times has given some a little too much over realistic expectations. To me this team has overachieved and never have i thought they were a real playoff team regardless of how many games they are within the playoffs. So to me they are still ahead of schedule and their future looks bright.
Not the start matthews needed. Trying to be too fine to schwarber was really the main issue. Walk n hit to start game, did nice to get next two but not enough. Phillies have good hitters and got through to him with a single n double. Already lots of pitches thrown. 0-3 after 1.
I think this is prob a toss up game. Their starter isnt that great but they have a solid lineup and are kind of hot. Our pitcher is prob better though young, but offensively we have some issues. Matthews def needs to go long with our bullpen struggling. If not this smells like a sweep for philly. Watched a little of the brewers game today, they def got a solid team this season.
Sometimes you have to go for it to win a world series otherwise you are just living on hope. The cardinals messed up their farm system by doing that but with teams that had little shot of doing anything even if they make the playoffs,big difference.
I guesd brian ypu were trying to give a hint with the previous post. I dont know if 34 innings is enough to validate hes ready but sometimes no choice.
