In the playoffs esp against dominant pitching, you dont get many multi run innings. So if you can create multiple number of innings where you can score 1 run, those 1 runs add up to multiple runs. Also bunting and the ability to bunt puts lots of pressure on the defense esp when most teams dont do it. Teams dont really ever practice the defense vs that type stuff after spring training so having a team of bunters as well as guys who can move runners over can be far more taxing on a team than a lineup of 9 guys who can hit home runs. If a pitcher is on, homeruns and extra base hits dont happen much, but those same pitches can be easily bunted as well as directed in the right way.

This last at bat for the dodgers just shows why bunting is very important. Dodgers get a lead off hit with 8th batter, edmans should bunt,he can bunt but he didnt. If he had, more than likely dodgers score a run. But no dodgers keep trying to rely on the big inning instead of common sense. So they didnt score. It sucks cause while i want the brewers to win the series i want the dodgers to win this game. I want more playoff baseball.

Dodgers owner isn’t spending $400 million to watch his team bunt runners over.

Hes paying them to win, in this game they may not definitely but possibly have 2-1 lead if he had bunted edman twice. It will be funny in a way if this game ends 1-0. They can ask the dodger manager why he didnt do his job and manage his team when they needed him too. You dont need a manager if you arent going to do anything but swing for the fences.

Well the brewers manager finally screwed up. Shouldnt have left uribe in there to walk the bases loaded plus didnt get a right hander up to throw til it was too late. It was obvious uribe didnt have it after the first two batters, muncy got himself out by trying to kill the ball. So roberts is off the hook right now because the other manager being stupid.

Well roberts screwed up, left snell in too long. You could say he should have took him out after 6 but def should have took him out after letting the leadoff guy get on, not sure if it was walk or hit. Doesnt really matter. So he precedes to give up back to back home runs. Terrible managing.

Well brewers win 6-2. I think roberts did a lot of bad managing to lose this game. The brewers did some good things but def benefitted by roberts just waiting for his players to hit the big shots instead of making stuff happen. Brewwrs are the better team though but it def looks ugly on the dodgers side.

Brewers look to be on a mission and are the team to beat of the final four. Still need one win though, before getting to their second Series. They have come a long way since those days of Jim Bouton’s Seattle Pilots.

Meanwhile the Guardians can take charge at home today. But most pundits probably have the Tampa-St Pete squad favored to win the series.

let’s send these Dodgers off to their winter vacation and go to work on somebody in the eastern time zone, don’t care which, to improve my sleep schedule.

Didnt get to watch cleveland tampa game, though see cleveland won. I expect this series to go 7 but you never know. I think the rays are the better team but cleveland seems to have all the energy with that comeback series win. I do think the brewers are the best team overall but best team doesnt always win

It’s time for the Dodgers to work on their golf game. I have never thought Robert’s is a good manager. But the Brew Crew still needs another win though.

I see the Guardians go up 2-1 with a 1-run win in game three. In going to a game there in 2024, those fans really get into their Guards.

Like I said about the Brewers and their long journey from humble beginnings, the Guardians have come quite aways as well. From the times playing in the “mistake by the lake” and almost moving, they are entrenched in their community again and beloved by the home faithful.

A few things about the Devil Rays….

    1. Really like their uni’s.
    2. If the Devil Rays manage to beat the Guardians, I think it will be a better WS. Nothing against the Guardians or Cleveland, OH. Just think the Devil Rays did more to earn a trip to the WS.
    3. There really is a fish called a devil ray. They’re closely related to the manta ray. But the manta ray has a much larger wing span of over 20 feet. They are completely harmless. Devil rays have a wing span of about 3 – 12 feet. They have a stinger somewhere on their tail. They jump up and out of the water to do acrobatics including back flips. Their mouth is not on their face but under their chin. They have fins on the sides of their face. The fins roll up like a scroll and protrude out in front of their face giving them Devil-like look.

One can learn so much more than just the odds and ends of baseball here at The Cardinal Nation. Thanks to the esteemed Mud for sharing some of the idiosyncrasies of the sting ray species. Having lived several years of my youth in both the fair cities of Milwaukee and Cleveland, I’m rooting like heck for the Brewers and Indians to be playing in the Fall Classic. My stepfather was in the banking business and when I was 13 and living in Milwaukee (Whitefish Bay), he spent months traveling to different cities concerning his work. It came down to one of three cities in which h we would be moving to…….New Orleans, St. Louis or Cleveland. Obviously I was praying for St. Louis. Well to my dismay it ended up being Cleveland. And to my surprise, Cleveland was a wonderful place to live.

Dodgers will be desperately gasping for just enough air to keep them alive in this game 4, but I’m guessing the Brewers aren’t looking to give them any. It could get gruesome for the faithful out in La-La land. We’ll see what happens…

Interesting game. Will we get from the dodgers what we have gotten or will we get more. Even if they manage to win, does it matter. Would it just delay the inevitable. I will say this, the only way i see the dodgers making even a competitive comeback is if ohtani goes 5 for 6 tonight, hits 2 homeruns and goes for the cycle. An on fire ohtani would light a fire under his teamates and might put a little concern into the brewers. When ohtani is on, the pitchers stuff doesnt really matter.

Well we have pinball baseball, ball hits off dodgers third basemans glove richochets to shorstop onto first for the out.

Well doesnt look like anything changed. Brewers pitcher even walked 2 batters just to tickle the beast before getting smith to weakly hit into a inning ending double play. You would think smith would have lots more fire being he just was gifted a new child by his wife.

Roberts just never ceases to amaze me at how unqualified as a manager he is. Glasnow gives up a 1 out walk with hardly nothing close in the 5th and he leaves him in to not only give up the stolen base but then gives up the run scoring hit. Come on, something should be going off in his head that this is a win or its done game.

Roberts brings in phillips, the worst possible pitcher he could have brought in and he you could tell couldnt handle the pressure and walked the bases loaded. You could bring in people from the stands that could pitch better than him. Then bring is vesia and he promptly walks the tying run home. Vesia should have been brought in first. Just terrible managing

Who would have thought the Brewers would score 4 runs to tie this game?
