So there’s still a chance. Goldy batting as the tying run with one out.

Goldy flies out to shallow RF. DeJong is last hope.

Let’s look at the bright side gang….so far none of our boys have been arrested for anything in Mexico as this is one place you don’t want to get thrown in the slammer……though JMart might deserve some sort of citation for banging into that crucial 8th inning twin killing.

I can do a decent Portanhol (Portuguese and Spanish mixture) but my Portuguese is much better than my Spanish. I can also read Spanish decently – much better than I can speak or write it.

Wainwright should’ve never started the 7th to begin with. That is on Shildt leaving him in against the lefty.

Well, Wainwright’s pitch count was under 80 and he had given up just two hits. He had gotten Dietrich out twice already in the game. The score was tied 1-1.

IMO, the game was lost by poor situational hitting and to a lesser extent by several defensive plays that did not break the right way.

Portuguese/Spanish puts you smack dab at the head of our class, Carioca! Three down and only 7 more to go.

This team didn’t look anything like the team that just swept the Dodgers. Another great effort by Waino, though. 1-for-12 with RISP will kill you and it did tonight. Terrible execution at the plate.

I’m not sure if anyone covered this, but did anyone else notice the Ford ad on the batting helmets? For the love of baby Jesus please don’t tell me this is going to be a thing!

For some reason a day off nearly always proves fatal to a win streak.

BHC, check back to the first page for an image of “Harrison Ford”.

I agree that they should have went to the pen to start the 7th. Pat Waino on the back and say good start. I don’t know which reliever Schildt would have brought in, but I would had Webb pitch.

Noticed it? Heck I was getting read to run down to my Ford dealer and buy one of those turkeys. Manfred must have sold out to Ford in Meh-e-oco. And here the President is trying to get them to come back to the US.
A lot of pre-game hype on what to expect for crowds and boisterousness in the stands. Hype is what it turned out to be. Some of the pre-game shots of the area showed something that looked like either heavy smog or a very dirty camera lens.
Sorry to see the Cards take a loss but I don’t blame either ONeil or Bader for those misses. Doubt many other OFs would have gotten them. But the 1-12 RISP is a sad stat. Waino has sure put the shutdown on his many pre-season detractors but the 3rd time around on the lineup may have been the time to take him out. See how that hindsight works?….LOL

How about this for an idea. Start Gallegos today to make him proud in front of his countrymen. Then either in the 2nd or 3rd inning (depending on his performance) put Miles in. In that way Miles won’t have to go 5 innings to get a win should that be the case.

Did we know Goldy was going to strike out so much when we signed him?

Goldy got off to a bad start last year then really turned it on. Here are his batting averages per month for 2018:

    Apr- .273
    May- .144
    June- .364
    July- .317
    Aug- .356
    Sep- .273
