Fellow Cardinals Fans –
When trying to delete a duplicate post on the game thread, I accidentally deleted the thing. This is the replacement, such as it is.
April 10, 2019 at 6:12 pm #868036:10 p.m. RHP Adam Wainwright (1-0, 4.50) vs. RHP Tanner Roark (0-0, 5.79) FOX Sports Midwest // KMOX // WIJR
April 13, 2019 at 7:10 pm #87198It’s kind of amusing what people do to prepare for exciting upcoming events in their lives. We all know that PREPARATION is the key to almost anything significant. Just wondering what some of our posters did in preparation for this big series south of the border? Me? The Pugs family has ate nothing but Mexican meals since Tuesday night, where we kicked things off with a huge Mexican food experience at Laredo’s in Madison. My wife knows very little Spanish other than some tidbits I have taught her, so she has had a steady diet of How to speak Spanish audio tapes all week long….and boy has her Spanish improved! Then there’s our white German Shepherd, Duke. I’ve been working with him now for nearly a month to kind of change his bark to more of a south of the border cadence. He has such a natural low pitch, menacing loud bark. What I’ve been trying to accomplish with him is to gain a higher pitched fast choppy bark….and believe it of not, progress is being made. Oh…..we move along to the bottom of the 3rd with St. Louis holding the slimmest of leads 1-0.

April 13, 2019 at 7:31 pm #87206The original thread apparently went “South of the Border”! Cards lead 1-0 in the top of the fifth.

1-2-3 frame for WainoApril 13, 2019 at 7:43 pm #87210How do folks feel about baseball jinxes? (Not this thread, but the game!)
April 13, 2019 at 7:48 pm #87211T/6th –
Ozuna swings on a 3-0 pitch and fouls it back, then fouls another one and another one and another one then lines a ground-rule double to left (ball bounces into the bullpen)
Molina lines out to the miserable so-and-so at first!
Pitching change with Roark near 100 pitches to switch Fowler around
April 13, 2019 at 7:49 pm #87212Waino has adapted very well to his aging arm…and can still hit the ball. Ozuna swinging at 3-0 with Roark at 90 pitches. But comes up with the GR double at 3-2. Yadi good approach at the plate to opposite field but Votto snags it for the second time. Looks like Roark is out, now time to start plating base runners.
April 13, 2019 at 7:49 pm #87213I’m a firm believer in them!
I will say that Waino’s only 2 base runners have been via a free pass
April 13, 2019 at 7:53 pm #87214Lefty Amir Garrett in
Fowler (Ozuna tries to take third and is called out but the first base ump calls a ball so Ozuna at third) strikes out looking after the ump calls ball 4 as strike 2 instead
Wong (Can Dan spout any more cliches?) Gets brushed on one up and in
Bader is looking downtown instead of just thinking contact – Wong takes 2nd – but is really making Garrett work and finally gets the IBB to load the bases for Waino
Waino K’s swinging
Took Garrett 24 or so pitches to finish the inning
April 13, 2019 at 7:55 pm #87215Looks like the home plate umpire is calling a lot of low pitches as strikes.
April 13, 2019 at 8:05 pm #87219Agree 64
April 13, 2019 at 8:07 pm #87220Uh-oh. The TV graphic has noted the situation, even if Dan and Brad are not…

April 13, 2019 at 8:14 pm #87225They may regret not pulling Waino after he hit Suarez.
April 13, 2019 at 8:23 pm #87227We could use a long one from DeJong.
April 13, 2019 at 8:26 pm #87228T/7th –
Marp grounds out, 4-3
Pitching change
Hughes inGoldy K’s on a check swing
DeJong sends one out to Puig who snares it mustang of the wall
April 13, 2019 at 8:26 pm #87229Did we know Goldy was going to strike out so much when we signed him?
April 13, 2019 at 8:28 pm #87230Hey our game thread is back! Anyone figure out what happened. Either there was a power outage in Mexico or the cartel didn’t like what Brian was saying and hijacked it. Yeah you wonder what it was with “Ford” being on Bader’s helmet?? With him being a young pup maybe he was trying to pay tribute to the late great Cardinal who like him played center field? It’s “Flood”, not “Ford”, Harrison!

Participantwell I decided to take a walk instead of watch the game. I get back to see our offense has reverted back to its former self after dodgers leave town. the reds have been horrible so far and we cant even score on them. still tied so the sky hasn’t fallen, well as I say that, its not tied. yea the sky has fallen. should have went away from him, cant keep going in on a batter.
April 13, 2019 at 8:32 pm #87232Wainwright should’ve never started the 7th to begin with. That is on Shildt leaving him in against the lefty.
