jj-cf-stlParticipantWhatever it takes!
July 8, 2024 at 3:55 pm #259593We usually break out the navy blue hats on the road when the home team wears red, but the Nats have worn a different hat every game I think so I guess we just decided to stick with the reds rather than guess what they would be sporting.
July 8, 2024 at 3:56 pm #259594Vintage no doubter Goldschmidt tater. If we can get either him or Arenado cranked up for these last 70 games the NLC should be no problem.

jj-cf-stlParticipantMiles is 60-60 W/L and he’s got a good start going. Lets just pile on and head back to Busch.
July 8, 2024 at 4:24 pm #259600Nice turn thus far from Mikolas as he’s scattered 5 hits and hasn’t allowed a run thru 5. Stingy with the BB’s is always his longsuit.
July 8, 2024 at 4:27 pm #259601Wood looks like Walker early last year in the outfield. Seems like he is hesitant to go after balls in the air and lets them drop in, when with a little aggressiveness he could catch them.
July 8, 2024 at 4:31 pm #259602I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Arenado take more than one base in the event of a hit when he was aboard. I know he’s no bad motor scooter, but you’d think you’d see him attempt an extra base at least once a season…
July 8, 2024 at 4:37 pm #259603Yeah, I thought the same thing, Bikemike. I’m sure Wood was playing relatively deep with Goldschmidt hitting, but he sure looked a little uneasy out there before the baseball dropped in front of him for a hit. And earlier I saw what looked like an overly casual effort from him on a ball hit off the bat of Donovan. He was fortunate and squeezed it for the out, but if he wasn’t 6-7, the baseball would have sailed over his head and rolled to the LF wall.
July 8, 2024 at 4:45 pm #259604I have seen Arenado go first to third, but he is not fast at all so it does not happen all that often. He is a bit like Brooks Robinson, great defense, good years offensively but not every year, but slow. And unfortunately Nado’s defense has slipped. Seems like Brooks was still great with the glove even later in his career.
July 8, 2024 at 4:54 pm #259606Burly has primo power!
July 8, 2024 at 4:55 pm #259607Alec “Shady” Burleson with the insurance!
July 8, 2024 at 4:57 pm #259608
jj-cf-stlParticipantMight be about Arenado’s struggles at the plate too.
If you’re lucky enough to be born with great hands, you got em’ for life. I could easily see throwing errors going up in the decline seasons tho.July 8, 2024 at 5:02 pm #259609
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe lefty bats got this. Be good bullpen.
July 8, 2024 at 5:07 pm #259610Is there anything Kitty can’t do???
July 8, 2024 at 5:13 pm #259613I would not be playing match up quite as much as Ollie is here with a four run lead and four outs to get. I would have had Kitty go after Wood.
But JoJo got ‘er done, and will get the ninth as well I figure.
July 8, 2024 at 5:14 pm #259614The rain’s coming down like it’s angry and I had to take off down to the basement to moniter the 6 inch drain outside of the basement door, so I missed the Burleson tater and the Donovan RBI double, but I got to see those two big blows on the rewind feature on our cable. Burleson went down and got that shin high pitch like he was driving it out of a tee box…Haha!
July 8, 2024 at 5:14 pm #259615“Is there anything Kitty can’t do???”
I don’t think he can shave. That beard is pretty scraggly!

July 8, 2024 at 5:16 pm #259617Yeah, Kittredge and Lynn would scare all of the locals if they both rode into town on loud and obnoxious HD choppers…Hide all the women and children…Haha!
July 8, 2024 at 5:17 pm #259618The question is, will Siani turn out to be a better player than Victor Scott?
July 8, 2024 at 5:19 pm #259619This game’s not yet in the books, but we’re beginning to look like a decent baseball team.
July 8, 2024 at 5:19 pm #259620
stlcard25ParticipantNice small ball with two singles, then a steal and Burleson drives in two with a single. 6-0.
July 8, 2024 at 5:22 pm #2596216-0 heading to the bottom of the 9th. Roycroft?
