Well worth the price, KCB. When it comes to burritos, you have to weigh the the pros and cons. I always focus on the pros…Haha!

I’ve always pulled for the Pirates when we aren’t playing them. Always have had players I like.

I think we would be smart to leave Donovan right where he is on defense and in the lineup when Noot and others start coming back.

Agreed. He’s been elite in Left and simply stinging the ball for well over a month now!

That strike three pitch Gorman swung at is the type of pitch he needs to recognize and lay off. It was not a strike from the release point onward. Can’t give away pitches like that.

A quick second inning tips the needle more towards the Dr Jekyll Mikolas than the Mr Hyde version.

If this holds, we are looking at a nail biter. Why do I have this nagging feeling we will get shutout tonight?

Donovan leads the entire team in combined RBI’s and runs scored with 79. Gorman places 2nd with 74 and Burleson and Goldschmidt are tied for 3rd with 73 apiece. Donovan’s in my lineup and somewhere in the field every day if I’m on the top step.

They sometimes show too many highlights on Bally. I have the sound turned down and when I glanced up at the TV screen they showed the clip of Burleson’s monster 2 run tater from yesterday. I thought he did it again…Haha!

How about a Pirate-Cardinal team? Guys that played with both clubs. Let’s see, just randomly I will go:

    Tony Peña, c
Donn Clendenon,1b (always wondered we he spelled his name with two n’s)
Dots Miller, 2b (there’s one no one here knows)
Dick Groat, ss (but you knew I was going there)
Dick Schofield, 3b (bit of a stretch as he was primarily a shortstop, but played some third – and it makes the entire infield guys with “D” first names)
    Bob Skinner, lf
Matty Alou, cf (Bill Virdon also a good one)
    Andy Van Slyke, rf
    Vinegar Bend Mizell, p
    Nelson Briles,p
    Matt Morris, p
    Dave Guisti, rp

Good list, Bikemike. I recall being really pleased with the idea of both Alou and Clendenon being fitted for a Cardinal uniform, but obviously both players were well past their prime when they arrived in StL. I just remembered both of them having success against my favorite team while they were with the Boccos. I was particularly stoked about Matty. I mean, when you looked at the back of his card and saw that batting championship and those 238 hits in a season, you couldn’t help but to be encouraged.

For a while Crawford was a no show, but in reality you could do a lot worse than him for a fail safe at SS. He’s had a really nice career and he was a pain in my backside for a long time when he was a Giant.

Yeah, I loved it when we got Matty Alou. Was at a game as a teenager when we had Alou, and he hunted a ball to the shortstop for a hit one night. I mean he rolled it like a pool shot just past the pitcher and to the shortstop position, but still on the grass.

Seeing Crawford head first slide – does anyone slide feet first anymore??

As good as Siani is, it’s ABs like that that keep him from being seriously considered the center fielder of the future.

Winn just keeps going right along. Those 2 out RBI’s are killers.
