jj-cf-stlParticipantLol, you have to beat Donovan, or you’re beat. He just comes at you every game.
June 24, 2024 at 7:39 pm #257689Nice…Steal a run!
June 24, 2024 at 7:40 pm #257690I wonder if McCarver was still the last Card to steal home
June 24, 2024 at 7:41 pm #257691
jj-cf-stlParticipantIt’s still 0-0 Lance
June 24, 2024 at 7:43 pm #257692Last Cardinal SB of HP…8-22-82.
June 24, 2024 at 7:45 pm #257693Brummer? Ozuna I dislike #1 in league.
June 24, 2024 at 7:45 pm #257694Was it McGee or Ozzie?
June 24, 2024 at 7:47 pm #257695Of course BRUMMER STEALS HOME!!!
June 24, 2024 at 7:50 pm #257697That had a chance to be a mangnificent tandem defensive play by Gorman and Winn. I saw something similar in the OF involving Dave Parker and Omar Moreno. It was a televised game against the Cardinals and Jack Buck’s call was, “You just saw a Big League play, folks!”
June 24, 2024 at 7:53 pm #257698I walked into Busch Memorial Stadium without a ticket or a stub free of charge in extras on the Sunday afternoon of 8-22-82.
June 24, 2024 at 7:55 pm #257699I used to do that Dom.
June 24, 2024 at 7:56 pm #257700
jj-cf-stlParticipant2 singles and mid 50 pitches.
Solo HR, mistake
Limit the base runners….
June 24, 2024 at 8:01 pm #257701Yeah, KCB, back then it was SOP if you were listening to the game on the truck or car radio and happened to be in the downtown area. Walk right in and sit right down free of charge in extras. We saw many an exciting ending to games like that back then.
June 24, 2024 at 8:05 pm #257702I was making $4.37 an hour with a wife and a baby in 1982. Free and cheap stuff was our fare. Time of my life.
June 24, 2024 at 8:06 pm #257703I walked into Busch Memorial Stadium without a ticket or stub free of charge in extras on the Sunday afternoon of 8-22-82.
Careful TD……..anybody know what the Missouri statue of limitations are on that sort of an infraction?
June 24, 2024 at 8:08 pm #257704Haha…Exactly, KCB! I was scuffling for every biscuit back then. If there was a bargain to be had, I was first in line! And you’re right, when I think back, some of the happiest times of my life was when I was broke…Haha!
June 24, 2024 at 8:10 pm #257705
jj-cf-stlParticipant#9 batter and then third time thru
June 24, 2024 at 8:14 pm #257706
jj-cf-stlParticipantQS on the books.
June 24, 2024 at 8:15 pm #257707I like to poke fun at Lance, but I think I have more fun watching his turns than any of the other guys in the rotation. Not only is he entertaining, but he also creates the delusion that anyone could get out there and pitch…Haha!
June 24, 2024 at 8:17 pm #257708
jj-cf-stlParticipantFrisco threw every LH pen arm they could find at us. ATL opens their pen the same way.
June 24, 2024 at 8:20 pm #257709It was always free to walk in off the street during extras, Pugs. In fact, it was free after the 7th inning only because they opened up the gates to let folks out who were leaving early. I don’t know if it’s still that way or not, but I’d imagine it would have to be. I don’t know how they’d control who went in or out after the 7th.
June 24, 2024 at 8:21 pm #257710Normally a LHP out of the BP is the way to go, but I’m not sure about tonight with Goldschmidt and Arenado in the dugout.
June 24, 2024 at 8:25 pm #257711
jj-cf-stlParticipantThey can’t hit lefties either 😉
June 24, 2024 at 8:30 pm #257712You know, Carpenter hasn’t been half bad of late.
June 24, 2024 at 8:34 pm #257713Yeah JJ, that thought occurred to me as soon as I uncoiled with the comment…Haha!
