That had a chance to be a mangnificent tandem defensive play by Gorman and Winn. I saw something similar in the OF involving Dave Parker and Omar Moreno. It was a televised game against the Cardinals and Jack Buck’s call was, “You just saw a Big League play, folks!”
I walked into Busch Memorial Stadium without a ticket or a stub free of charge in extras on the Sunday afternoon of 8-22-82.
Yeah, KCB, back then it was SOP if you were listening to the game on the truck or car radio and happened to be in the downtown area. Walk right in and sit right down free of charge in extras. We saw many an exciting ending to games like that back then.
I was making $4.37 an hour with a wife and a baby in 1982. Free and cheap stuff was our fare. Time of my life.

Haha…Exactly, KCB! I was scuffling for every biscuit back then. If there was a bargain to be had, I was first in line! And you’re right, when I think back, some of the happiest times of my life was when I was broke…Haha!
I like to poke fun at Lance, but I think I have more fun watching his turns than any of the other guys in the rotation. Not only is he entertaining, but he also creates the delusion that anyone could get out there and pitch…Haha!
It was always free to walk in off the street during extras, Pugs. In fact, it was free after the 7th inning only because they opened up the gates to let folks out who were leaving early. I don’t know if it’s still that way or not, but I’d imagine it would have to be. I don’t know how they’d control who went in or out after the 7th.
Normally a LHP out of the BP is the way to go, but I’m not sure about tonight with Goldschmidt and Arenado in the dugout.
