King looking real good. Let’s bunt Mighty Quinn (the Manfred Man) over, get him in, and see if King can shut the door in the Marlin tenth.

It’s a good thing we got an extra bullpen guy tonight. That may come in handy. On to extras.

Crawford moves Fermin to third on a reasonably deep fly to CF. And Dylan scores him with a sac fly.

Well we don’t bunt him over, but Crawford gets him there on a long fly out. And Carlson plates him with another long fly out.

Nice to get that run. I’ll say it again tonight…With the new rules, you almost need to score at least 1 run to survive. Especially on the road.

Roycroft warming to come in for the bottom of the 10th. No Helsley available apparently. Obviously no Kittredge. Not going to chance JoJo after last night’s performance.

Dang – when Siani starts to look good, he goes and swings at strike three in the dirt. Come on man – pitch recognition. Gotta pick out pitches that you can do something with, and let go anything that you won’t be able to get good contact on.

I know it is easier said than done, but man, sometimes pitches are balls right from the release point.

He’s not burning Helsley because he expects the Marlins to tie it up…If we score 2 runs in the 11th, he’ll give the baseball to Helsley.

Roycroft can really bring it, but he scares me in a close game with his command issues.

Carlson with a good catch and throw to hold the runner. They are scared after last night.

And now he does not get over to cover first. Mental mistake by Roycroft.

Roycroft forgets to cover first on a chopper. Terrible. 1st and 3rd one out now.

He’s a big kid…I guess he was thinking about posting up in the lane instead of covering 1B…

And now a dribbler to 3rd goes for an infield single to tie it. Ugh.

The Cards changed catchers to control the run game coming into the inning. Wise move.

I would have stuck with King. Roycroft is just too raw to use in a situation like this.

I don’t disagree BikeMike. But I’m not sure King has pitched in 3 separate innings all year for what that’s worth.

And there it goes. A little of our luck runs out. Poor bullpen use by Ollie. Think he could have gotten more out of Leahy and King.

Nothing hard hit Off Roycroft. The real killer was his failure to cover first.

He’s not the guy we want at the end of games but it sounds like it was either him or the rookie Loutos.

Yeah. I’d have stuck with Leahy for maybe even 3 innings. Then go to King. We were setup to just have the rookies at the end of this one.
