12 Marlins hits and we’re not through 6. Does every game need to be close? Is it a rule this year? We finally score runs and now allow them at the same rate.
20 games out of 71 this year have been decided by more than 3 runs. It’s more than I thought. But still 51 close ones is a ton.
Our largest margin of victory this season? 6. One time against the Reds. We have 2 five run wins (Red Sox& Angels). All the other wins have been close.
Leahy on in the 7th. Our pen is worn down. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Leahy pitch 2.
We actually have an extra bullpen guy (Loutos) because Kyle Gibson is on bereavement leave – even though Kyle is pitching tomorrow.
We hold the Mighty Marlins scoreless for the third time tonight after a quick inning by Leahy. Some solid contact, but all of it hit at someone.
Right now Baseball Reference has us as the luckiest team in MLB. Let’s see if we can luck out and grab another win.
We’ve had a few clunkers that really have done our run differential in. And like I pointed out above, we aren’t ever blowing anyone out.
Leahy looked real good, and with a tie game late and our ‘pen a bit worn I would have kept him in there against Chisholm.
Ok. I know I may get beat up for this take. But I don’t like Ollie pulling Leahy here for King against Chisholm.

Yes. It is winning percentage relative to Pythagorean expected W-L. Pythag is computed from run differential.
Thus you would expect us to regress back to a losing record. But that does not always happen. Check out the 1984 Mets, one of the “luckiest” teams of all time.
Leahy was throwing great this inning. And our bullpen is run down. I’d have stuck with Leahy.
But King gets the K. Good job John. Did his job.
Now we get the Marlins best bullpen guy. It would have been nice to have scored against all the not so good guys.
Gorman hitting.065 since Monday, June 9. 2 hits in those last 31 at bats with a whole lot of strikeouts. That was before 3 more K’s tonight.
