The front office isnt interested in the future. They believe they can win now. Also gray is a pitcher people will show up to see pitch which brings money in. I didnt mind his signing though like i said, i believe they could have had him before. I just felt they needed one more big piece. Though really our hitting has been our biggest problem. Or lack of i should say. I will say gray seems to be injured or something. Still solid but not going deep.

On the plus side, Jordan Walker just hit his first homer. It was bad pitching. But still.

This is last year’s script. Starter gets us behind early and bails after 5. Offense is anemic and can’t get anything going.

Unless the Phillies really drop their watch they’ll be 23 over with a W tonight. They’re a pretty good team.

Yeah Willie it looks like the bats may be coming around a bit.Actually we are up against 2 top teams on this trip. Got alot of young guys with just a few years at this level. We can still win the Central. Will need to get on a roll.

Loutos was signed in 2021 as an undrafted college player after the 20 rounds of the draft were over. He also works with the front office to develop pitching algorithms for what that is worth.

Burleson in an 0-16 skid. Has seen his OPS drop 90 pts this week.

Burlys got power and plenty of play time. May be trying too hard. Should be able to do it.If there is such a thing as trying too hard? Maybe concentration would be a better word?

Some of you may recall that former Cardinal slugger Dal Maxvill played for the legendary Wash U baseball Bears…

Regression toward the mean would be a better word.

I feel like we need a win Sunday to keep the wind being knocked out of our sails.

Another family event and I missed this one, same as last night. Looks just as well – a perusal of the box and I see we K’d 13 times and did not draw a walk.

Thought this would be a tough series. Hoping we can get one and not drop back to three under.

I thought the Cardinals played well in Friday’s loss. Tonight they looked over-matched by a very good baseball team.

The Cardinals are now a combined 2-10 vs. MIL and PHI this season.

The Phillies are 41-18 for a reason. They have a complete ball club and it’s obvious we aren’t on their level. Maybe we can steal one tomorrow night.

I didn’t see much of the game tonight. Did Marmol remove Gray on his own or did Sonny ask to come out again? We need more than five innings out of our best starter.

I like Sonny ok but I do not like how Mo structured his backloaded contract. I think we are going to end up regretting that. $10M then $25M then $35M? Ugh….remember that when we talk about money coming off the books. There is actually money being added to the books.
