Another tough lefty for us. We will be lucky to get out of Philly with one win.

Then we go to Houston. Sooner or later they are going to get on a roll.

Who knows, we might lose six games in a row…….

    Speaking of throwing a shutout……

Dakota Hudson pitched into the 8th tonight at Doyer Stadium. He had a shutout going. It was 4-1 after eight innings.

Ollie puts Herrera at cleanup now and then. He has had some good games, but ideally is a 6-7 hitter. We just don’t have a lot of boppers. I would stick with Nado at 4 but he has struggled of late, although he powered up yesterday.

Herrera’s done a real nice job this season, but will forever and always belong in the 6 or 7 slot. Arenado belongs at cleanup. Always has. Particularly at the present moment. He’s just beginning to get underway as witnessed by the fact that he tatered up 2 games in a row.

Any word on Donovan? I really don’t want to see Burly out in LF consistently. They mentioned on the broadcast last night Fermin was trying to play the OF in Memphis. Hopefully he is getting some practice time out there and can take LF if Donovan isn’t playing.

I read where Donovan might be available to pinch hit tonight but is probably a day or two away from being back in the lineup.

This team does not have a cleanup hitter. Goldy and Arenado are both past their prime and no one else is ready to do it on a consistent basis so it is what it is. Contreras would probably be our best option if he was healthy.

Taking a gander at the current out-of-town scoreboard:

The Pirates lead the BlueJays 6-1 in the 7th at Toronto.

The White Sox lead the Brewers 4-1 in the top of the 4th at County Stadium in Milwaukee.

The Reds and Cubs will be fortunate if they get their game in tonight. There has been alot of rain in the Chicago area today and according to the Doppler Radar there might still be some more coming.

He’d be better off if he did gscottar!!!

And the White Sox and Brewers are tied 3-3 in the last of the 9th at Miller Park now.

UPDATE: ChiSox and Brewers heading to extras now.

And the Brewers come away with a 4-3 win over the White Sox in 10 innings.

Need a win tonight or we fall 7 games back.

UPDATE: And sure enough, the Reds and the Cubs are in a rain delay at Wrigley.

Like this lineup better but its all righties for the first 6 guts. Could be pretty smooth sailing after that for this left hander. His stats look really good.Hope our top of order has a good night!

This is one of those matchups i would love to be able to watch and when i really hate i had to downgrade my cable package. Guess ill just be paying attention via news beats along with local evansville aces playing in the ncaa college baseball tournament. They are up 6-0 last check having already won first game.

Well, this is like last year where our crummy pitching got us behind right off the bat.
