Video of Megill’s comeback liner that hit him. I I’m imagine he will be in the IL with a broken forearm.

Those comebackers are really scary. Especially when they’re at or a little above shoulder level.

Burleson went Ofer 5. Off with his head.

Game Ball to Kyle Gibson. Hat-tip to John King.

LaCardFan, that could be. However, a lot of amateur baseball wizards simply couldn’t envision Burleson’s hitting potential. Could you, two years ago until this May?

    Two years ago? Yes.

After two years of failure? It was becoming doubtful.

But like all prospects, you can’t really judge them on a few hundred PA’s.

But yesterday, you made a post about Goldschmidt, and you put Burleson in there. Then, you made a post about Gibson, and you put Burleson in the post. I just read your post in another thread, and once again it is about Burleson.

Let me give you some context:
    Burleson’s 2024 OPS: .764
    Nootbaar’s career OPS: .773
    Donovan’s career OPS: .759
    Arenado’s career OPS: .864
    Goldschmidt’s career OPS: .901

All Burleson has achieved to date is that he has had one season of “average” OPS. When he gets his career OPS into Arenado and Goldschmidt territory, everybody will be on the Burleson hype train.

For now, he looks good, because so many players are underperforming their career averages (which are as good or better than Burleson’s current performance) at the same time.

Allow me to add, Burleson has basically had 3 good weeks in MLB. And his last games he’s slugging a paltry .321.

So while we all love & appreciate Burleson’s hot streak, I’m not convinced he’s the next Willie Stargell just yet. Eleven XBHS all season doesn’t excite me at all.

That was supposed to be last 7 games, he’s slugging .321.

Some think 3 weeks make a career. Others with a balanced view are hopeful but see that for the blip it is. Chill Shady.
