Goldy quickly shutting up all the trade chatter. I love it.

Kittredge works 1.2 IP’ed on 44 pitches these last two games. The lead shrinks to 2.

Ivan went fishing twice in a row and came up empty on two curves in the dirt and 3 straight swings and misses at the curve. Ugh. I wanted to answer that Haap homer.

Now Romero comes in. Cross your fingers that his arm doesn’t fall off. I’m getting worried about JOJo’s overwork.

2 hard hit balls greet JoJo. First one caught deep in the outfield. 2nd for a base knock.

And a 3rd one in a row. Guys have been squaring Romero up frequently lately.

And Siani makes a brilliant grab to save a hit and a run for the 2nd out.

Yeah, it’s amazing that they are making Romero work basically every game.

Ugh. Bases loaded after HBP when Romero was in front 0-2 on Morel.

Worst guy to face bases loaded in Hoerner.

But we get him on a hard hit grounder. Good positioning there.

Romero needs 4 days off. Kittredge probably needs 2-3. Someone else has to step up. Lately that’s been King. But we need at least one more good arm to fill that void. I’d lean towards Leahy but he’s nothing special – just consistent.

Romero escapes the 8th on 11 pitches. That’s 2.1 IP’ed on 35 pitches these last 2 games. Helsley with 16 pitches in a shaky appearance yesterday. We’ll see him in a minute…

The Cardinal manager has used Kittredge and Romero on consecutive days all season long.

We need to get Libby back in the pen where he belongs. He is not a starter.

Hopefully Helsley looks better than he did last night.

That ain’t a good start to the 9th.

Cubs seem to have Helsley’s number. Haap drills a homer on pitch 2 to dead center. 1 run game.

Our big three in the pen are getting pummeled. Let’s hang on please.

2 on the corners. Good hitting by Tauchman. Here we go again.

Well we are only one game behind the Cubs now. I think I will go finish my bottle of pepto bismol.

Was thinking the same thing. A lot of “comfortable” ABs. Even the outs have been pretty loud.
