It’s my understanding all of this bad weather is supposed to hit us here in SW Indiana in the next 2-3 hours. Just our luck. Oh well, with the rain we had last night and any more rain I won’t have to do any mowing/trimming/weedeating for the next couple of days.
Josef Newgarden repeats as the winner of the Indianapolis 500.

May 26, 2024 at 7:08 pm #253744Was he driving a Wildcat Offy or a Coyote Ford…Haha!
May 26, 2024 at 7:09 pm #253745Use to love the Indy 500 back in the day of AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti and the likes. I got SI as a kid and now and then they would have a feature on auto racing. Still like to watch the movie “Grand Prix” now and then.
For the record, Lady Bike wanted to do the “brew pub – food truck” bit for din-din. So we had a beer and burger for din-din, with what the food thick calls “seasoned chips” on the side. We had not had this truck’s fare before and it gets thumbs up!
May 26, 2024 at 7:19 pm #253747Yeah, the variety of cars in the 70’s and 80’s were really something. All with really cool names like, Chaparral, Eagle, Colt, Wildcat, etc. And if you’re born with a name like A.J. Foyt, you just know you’re going get a few speeding tickets…Haha!

jj-cf-stlParticipantIt took almost two hours for the red blob to pass thru mid-Mo. We got an inch and now the suns back out.
May 26, 2024 at 7:27 pm #253749Is the game about to start?
May 26, 2024 at 7:40 pm #253750They’re playing now. Girl’s softball. This blonde pitching for Tennessee looks like she could outduel Matz…
May 26, 2024 at 8:03 pm #253751According to the Doppler Radar the rain and storms have moved out of St. Louis. Any idea when we will have the first pitch?
By the way, it’s now storming, raining, thundering, lightning here in SW Indiana. Whitey Herdog is under my desk as I am typing this.
May 26, 2024 at 8:03 pm #253752The plan is 8:40 first pitch per Katie Woo.
May 26, 2024 at 8:14 pm #253753Well if this one gets called, we’ll have ourselves a tidy little 1 game sweep. Or, we could go right back to the hotel and go immediately to bed and then play Game 2 of this series at 8am sharp tomorrow, which should be ample time for our 3pm start over in Cincy. Not sure what time Chicago plays in Milwaukee, but it most likely wouldn’t be any big deal for both the Reds and Brewers to push their starting times back to 7pm. Morning baseball……wonder what time the earliest first pitch was tossed out in MLB history?
May 26, 2024 at 8:25 pm #253754We had tornadoes here in NW AR last night. Lots of damage just north of my locale. Tis the season unfortunately.
If the game ends at midnight tonight the lads won’t get much sleep before the 3pm first pitch in Cincinnati tomorrow.
May 26, 2024 at 8:25 pm #253755It’s now storming, Whitey HerDog is under my desk.
Play some loud music to block out the thunder, Rat. Maybe some old Genesis, Led Zep or Alan Parsons Project would do the trick. I’ve had 4 white German Shepherds in my life. All tremendous pets and protectors. But all four were deathly afraid of storms. Recently I picked up young rescue dog (Black Mouth Cur) that was abandoned down in Alabama and brought up here to the frozen tundra for adoption. Anyway, there could be a howling hurricane and it wouldn’t bother this sweet dog one bit.
May 26, 2024 at 8:32 pm #253756Looks like the 6 inch pumps did the trick in the BP areas. The SP’ers are going through their warm-up routines.
May 26, 2024 at 8:38 pm #253757Everyone looks wet.
May 26, 2024 at 8:40 pm #253758wonder what time the earliest first pitch was tossed out in MLB history?
Fans attending a twi-night doubleheader in San Diego on September 24, 1971 almost saw the record for earliest start broken. After dropping the lidlifter to Houston in 21 innings, the Padres took the field for the nightcap just a bit late and the teams had to settle for tying the Grays-Craws 12:01 a.m. record.

May 26, 2024 at 8:58 pm #253762Too bad the bronze busts laid an egg.
May 26, 2024 at 9:03 pm #253763At one time I attended quite a few Cardinal games during the course of a season and always had good luck regarding rain delays or washouts. However, I distinctly recall attending one game that started in the early afternoon during a weekday, but was postponed as a result of a downpour just 2 outs prior to becoming an official game. I wasn’t too unhappy about it, because the very next night I got to see Bob Forsch work a 7-0 CG shutout over the Atlanta Braves in game 1 of the ’82 NLCS.
