May 17, 2024 at 10:01 pm #252568Timely hitting, and not trying to do too much.
May 17, 2024 at 10:02 pm #252569FWIW – we are below average at every position except DH, C, and 3B. 3B is 15th so right at average. C we are number 2 with the other Contreras brother setting the pace. Dead last for CF. No surprise there.
May 17, 2024 at 10:11 pm #252570That’s a winner. The pitching has gotten worse but the offense has completely transformed.
May 17, 2024 at 10:15 pm #252571That “L” needed to go.
Game Ball I leave to our booth statistician J.
May 17, 2024 at 10:22 pm #252572Ha! Thanks I guess. But I’m going to take it and hand it over to Alec B. Could have been many of our hitters tonight, but the Burly one was a major spark tonight.
May 17, 2024 at 10:25 pm #252573Just arrived home from a dinner function…..excuse me……a din-din function….and am very pleased to see us ramrodding the RedSox and Kitty getting back on track. Speaking of Kitty, when looking at his delivery, he distinctly reminds you of 3 pitchers with the first name “Jim” from back when most of us here were kids. Jim “Catfish” Hunter, Jim “Mudcat” Grant and Jim Kaat…..all rolled into one and you have Kitty.
Some beautiful Catfish Fiddler restaurant recommendations, gentlemen! I’m most proud to announce 3 new inductees into the Friday Catfish Fiddler Fan Club……congrats to TD and Bling! And to Cardinal In France…..you’re in too as Monkfish, on name alone, definitely qualifies your induction. Our once little club is growing faster than Kyle Hendricks’ ERA.
May 17, 2024 at 10:42 pm #252574The Reds just tied the Doyers 3-3 on a dong by Stephenson.
Betts and Watubi with dongs for the Doyers in this one.
May 18, 2024 at 9:38 am #252596Kittredge is a Motte look-a-like for me when he’s on the mound. Just stands, steps and throws. No wasted motion, all business.
May 18, 2024 at 9:58 am #252598Just watched last night’s game om MLB-TV replay (didn’t start til 2 a.m. my time). What joy! Where has all that offense been hiding? Must have been the monkfish.
May 18, 2024 at 10:31 am #252601I wonder about an offense that can turn on like a light switched on. Individuals go hot and cold, but the whole lineup in unison is sort of creepy. I assume it could turn off if the switch gets flipped. There must be some conspiracy theory at work. It does lend weight to the idea that if you can sneak into post season and flip the switch you can grab the flag.
May 18, 2024 at 1:01 pm #252620If we could come up with a Flood and Javier somehow it would really be something.
Bikemike, I had an uncle who used to get Curt Ford and Curt Flood mixed up all the time. ha!
May 18, 2024 at 1:03 pm #252621Gibson’s turning in another journeyman performance thru 5. You almost have to be at least satisfied so far with all 3 additions to the rotation.
I agree 1TD. I am very pleased with the three rotation additions. It is the two holdovers who are holding us back, along with a shaky offense.
May 18, 2024 at 1:09 pm #252622The lineup conspiracy theory likely leans toward the opposing pitcher. That fits with the hot and cold hitting at the same time.
The lineup is hustling on the basepaths. With that effort level I don’t question whether there are other agendas. The hustle is the tell, right?
