All that excitement all for nothing.
May 11, 2024 at 9:07 pm #251895Oh man, for a second I thought he had it! Dang!! 12 hits to their 6 and still can’t win. I give up.
May 11, 2024 at 9:07 pm #251896And that, my friends, is that.
5-3 Milwaukee the final.
One more loss tomorrow and I am predicting that Marmol and Turner are history.
Time to finish watching the Dodgers and Padres, then an episode of Mannix.

ParticipantNado 30ft short. Losing streak continues. Maybe tomorrow…
May 11, 2024 at 9:08 pm #251898Does it even matter at this point?

ParticipantI thought the Cardinals’ publicly stated philosophy was to “compete every year.” Great, when do we start?
May 11, 2024 at 9:16 pm #251901The Cardinals are 15-24 for a .385 winning percentage. That would work out to 62-100.

ParticipantThank goodness they spent over $50mm on FA pitching this off-season, otherwise this season might have gone off the rails . . .
May 11, 2024 at 9:20 pm #251903Yep, all for nothing. Again. Sorry but I put the blame squarely on Goldschmidt’s and Arenado’s shoulders. 1-5 and 0-5 just doesn’t cut it for the situation the team is in and their level of experience. You’ve got to get the ball to the outfield as a minimum with RISP. If you’re in a slump, figure it out or go home. Neither of them has figured it out.
May 11, 2024 at 9:20 pm #251904Look on the sunny side…The Cardinals boast the best W/L pct. of any last place team in the NL.
May 11, 2024 at 9:24 pm #251905That’s 7 in a row and 9 games off the pace. I expect things to get worse before this team returns to StL. for a 9 game homestand. I also expect major changes to take place on the off day on Thursday.
May 11, 2024 at 9:46 pm #251907I think that makes them 29 games under since the start of 2023
May 12, 2024 at 1:03 am #251918I’ll be surprised if there are any changes.
May 12, 2024 at 9:20 am #251929No changes coming where it counts.
May 12, 2024 at 11:44 am #251942Trifecta! Donovan, Goldy, and Arenado all left 5 guys on base each!
Is this even possible?
I don’t believe everything I read on the internet, but box scores tend to be accurateMay 12, 2024 at 11:49 am #251944As players age, they lose a half step at some point, and they no longer get cheap infield singles to pad the average.
Also, their bat speed drops, and they lose their power.
Is it possible that both these things happened to Goldy in the same offseason? -
