Siani is becoming an on base machine….but not quite reminiscent of The Big Red Machine…..though he did play for that franchise.

Siani will miss tomorrows game due to the HOF scheduling him for a plaque.

The Tigers hurler Maeda heck of a good 3-2 pitch to Contreras to whiff him and the throw down to 2nd will get Siani by 2 country miles to complete the inning ending DP. Still 3-1 Detroit with 5 1/2 frames in the books.

Why is Lars batting 3rd! Oli seems intent on batting someone 2nd or 3rd who is hitting less than 180! Why? Makes no sense!

Indeed Steve. I honestly think Oli would be better served if he did with his batting order what they do when they pick horse post positions for the Kentucky Derby. Draw them out of a hat one by one.

Miles gets slapped around for a Quality Start.

The aforementioned Nooty leads off the 7th with a base knock off the new hurler, Will Vest. Now Arenado shoots a hot shot just past the SS and out into left field for a hit, with Nooty slamming on the brakes at 2nd. Get em boys!
Ahhh Goldy bounces into a 5-3 twin killing…..ouch that hurt! And Vest will exit this game, with Joey Wentz entering it. And Burly whiffs looking….bad bad inning…..it opened so wonderfully with the first 2 batters getting hits, but then wilted terribly on the vine.

JJ. I have to leave in abut 5 minutes as I volunteered earlier to pick up my 8 year granddaughter from school. I hope to make it back by the 9th, but she has come to expect grandiose things ( Dairy Queen and then a trip to Target to buy Pokémon cards…..and baseball cards for me) when grandpa picks her up from school. Please bring us home a come from behind win, JJ.

And speaking of baseball cards, if any of you young posters are collectors and want some Cardinal baseball cards from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, give me a yell and I’ll send you some.

Contreras misses an opportunity for an RBI by chasing balls out of the zone to extend the at-bat and then going down on strikes.

1-9 in series final games this year if they can’t do something in the 9th…I am not quite sure what that means, but to me its not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Manager’s ability to adjust on the fly.

Maybe its just one of those weird baseball quirks that is unexplainable

Using Romero down by two in the bottom of the 8th…

And Romero gives up two singles and a sac fly. 4-1

Might as well try to stay in this one with an off day tomorrow.

This team is just dreadful to watch…hopefully nobody jumps off a building this weekend, as I cannot think of two more totally uninteresting teams than Cardinals and White Sox to watch in a series

I like how Libby looks in the role of a one inning guy. Pitching kept us in it. The offense is so bad the position players should have the birds on the bat ripped from their jersey in disgrace.

Yeah, but don’t damage that Stifel patch.

Sticking to my prediction of max 70 wins. Lineup is awful swinging the bat as this inept FO badly overrated the lineup. Only way it changes is a total replacement of FO even then will take time. Long hard times ahead guys and gals.

I have little confidence they even handle pick seven in the draft correctly……it’s that bad.

Well, they won 71 games last season, so a one game drop off isn’t that terribly bad.
