Now he is really giving tryouts to the scrubeenies. As long as he does not use JoJo or Kitty I guess we will be okay for tomorrow.

This might be at a point where someone has to take one for the team.

RP are so finicky. Gallegos was so good for 4 years and now he just doesn’t have it now. He struggled with the stikezone and his slider has lost velocity and movement and must be much more hittable.

What is bringing Robertson in like?

Well, he was the headliner in the Tyler O’Neill trade…

The pitch clock didn’t seem to bother 99% of pitchers, but I think Gallegos was one it did. I hated watching him previously as you could power nap between pitches.

Gallegos is a 30+ reliever doing what 30+ relievers do, as I predicted. That’s why you don’t sign those guys more than 1 year at a time.

I’m glad I’m not watching. I can imagine a bunch of bad hops, wounded ducks and seeing eye grounders

Yeah, Gallegos has really struggled and seems to have lost any command he once possessed. He was a bit streaky even when he was good, but this year has been brutal.

Fermin given a nice number. Tim McCarver and Jim Edmonds. Anyone know who wore 15 before McCarver? I didn’t know but McCarver mentioned it on a broadcast one time when he was doing some games for us as the color guy.

He’s been touched up for 4 HR’s in 9 IP’ed. He gets hit hard.

I don’t know, Bikemike. I liked Edmonds a lot as a player, but I always thought of #15 as belonging to McCarver. Probably because that’s what I cut my teeth on.

It’s going to be a shame to lose this game. I was impressed to see them come back and take a lead after Matz had spotted Detroit the 4 runs early in the game.

Gallegos is our new bullpen mop-up guy you only use in games you are already trailing by four runs or more

Brad Thompson mentioned that Burleson might be moving up in the lineup. How about trying this? 1) Donovan 2) Winn 3) Burleson 4) Goldschmidt. Although, until Burleson starts producing more extra base hits, he’s fine at #6, for now.

Burleson collected 5 RBI’s today, Shady! He’s ripping the baseball like he’s mad at it…Haha!

In regards to RBI’s, the lead-off man has led this team in that category for almost the entire season. The big kids are going to have to put some teeth into the middle of the batting order. Obviously Golschmidt, Arenado and Gorman are going to have to start pushing runs across HP, but even Contreras trails all 3 of the aforementioned bats in the RBI dept. with only 9.

1td, right now, Burly is confident and focused at the plate. He and Winn have been pleasant surprises in the lineup.

He had a real nice assist in LF today too, Shady. Lately he’s been playing like he wants to make certain he won’t ship out if Edman and Carlson ever show up to play.

1td, you might be right about that extra incentive.

The way he’s playing we may need to start a thread entitled, “Can Burley bring home the NL MVP?”….Haha!

Some good stuff happened, but at the end of the day its a push. We gain nothing. I’ll tell you that.

I’m quickly becoming convinced that Crawford’s dead weight. Is he entirely indispensable?

Can’t get rid of Crawford, because he is the backup SS. What happens if Winn gets injured?

Yeah, I thought it was an entertaining day of baseball, Bling. That’s all I really feel entitled to. At least they had a chance to win both games and they didn’t pack it in after falling behind early in the second game. Last season they’d have tossed it in the fire before the 4th inning. “I’ll tell you that”…
