Siani has been on base 7 times in the last three games, which equals Victor Scott II’s total for the year.

That Goldschmidt HR was his first since his second AB of the season at Dodger Stadium.

Just did some research on Kitty and “no” he cannot be stretched out to a starter type workload, but here he is pitching again in the 8th.

Kitty pitched a purrrfect 8th…..dispatched the one batter he faced before getting yanked. But yeah…..The Untouchable is a very apt nickname for Kitty.

    Enter Joseph Abel “JoJo” Romero.

JoJo yields a base hit, but then quickly makes amends by inducing a 6-4-3 twin killing. 3-3 heading to the bottom of the 8th.

Big tall drink of water in the person of Ryan Scott Thompson pitching the 8th for Arizona.

Thompson sets us down 1-2-3 in the 8th.

Who’s pitching the 9th? Has to be JoJo again.

JoJo only faced 2 batters last inning. Why in blazes bring Helsley in here?

Goldy beats out a slow roller down the 3rd baseline for an infield hit to start matters off here in the bottom of the 9th. And the Diamondbacks switch pitchers.

Gorman whacks a 2 run bomb to right to win it.

Gee the two heads I was calling on to be chopped earlier today both whacked huge homers.

Both Cardinal HR’s tonight were hit by guys who’ve been AWOL with the bat.

That was abrupt. They barely got back in time for the game winner after the commercial breaking on Extra Innings.

Did somebody mention the son of Earl and Ethel Weaver in this thread earlier? Took a page out of his book: pitching, defense and the 3-run homerun. I guess we substituted the 1-run and 2-run homers for the 3-run homer.
