As TLR would say……One winning streak and we will be right there. Perhaps it starts tonight.

And din-din today will be a Hungry Man’s Turkey TV dinner. Along with some Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. No cigars until game time tonight. Me and Whitey Herdog will start the evening on the couch with the Phillies and Reds game from Riverfront Stadium. Then switch over to the DBacks and Redbirds.

In addition to featuring almost 21 innings of respectable work, LL’s been entertaining to watch during his 4 turns this season. I don’t know exactly why, but it’s fun for me to see a guy out on the pitching mound who looks like he carries around a couple of dozen Bavarian Bismarks in his equipment bag. I’ll bet he can eat those things like he’s mad at them.

I’m OK with the lineup, given the roster we have. Goldy could be dropped further until he starts hitting, but there are 26 million reasons he stays in the middle of the order even if both his arms fell off.

The Cardinals haven’t won a game since April 15th when Lynn took his previous turn in the rotation.

A legitimate over/under on Cardinal runs in this game would be set at 3. I’m listening to my heart and not my head in calling this game 8-4 Cardinals. It’s time for all concerned to let bygones be bygones……and that’s exactly the appropriate mantra…..let us all let bygones be bygones and start hitting the ball with authority.

Hey Rat I love your Hungry Man turkeys din-dins! I have 3 sitting in the garage fridge as we speak…….and I guarantee you that there will only 2 by tomorrow night at this time. Tonight it was smoked salmon ( heavily laden with salt and pepper), deviled eggs, tomatoes and 3 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies.

It’s weird the way the schedule works when you play a team on sort of a home-and-home basis twice within a 10 day stretch, then not again the rest of the year.

We will see if we can actually put up more than 3 tonight.
