jj-cf-stlParticipantSiani as the table setter, with a double, to get the lead back.
July 23, 2024 at 8:00 pm #261387Too bad he won’t get the winning decision as the Bavarian Bismark Beast obviously outdueled Skenes in this game…Now it’s up to Helsley to hold this 1 run lead for the Redbird W.
July 23, 2024 at 8:00 pm #261388BISCUITS!
July 23, 2024 at 8:01 pm #261389It’s more than a little amusing that Skenes is mentioned in the same breath with Albert Pujols…
July 23, 2024 at 8:02 pm #261391Always liked the Rats. Class organiZation. Always seem to have some class players. Happy for their fans.
July 23, 2024 at 8:03 pm #261392Ty Cobb can’t hit that 1-2 pitch from Helsley…It should be outlawed.
July 23, 2024 at 8:04 pm #261393An absolutely horrible managerial decision to pinch run for one of the top hitters in the MLB, who was DH in a one run game late. And Burly was at 1B. Win or lose, a terrible decision !
July 23, 2024 at 8:06 pm #261394Helsley with the unfair performance and a 2-1 Redbird W.

jj-cf-stlParticipantGame Ball to Lance Lynn
Hat-tip to Michael SianiJuly 23, 2024 at 8:07 pm #261396The Cardinals have found their “Ace” in the Bavarian Bismark Beast…Paulie who?
July 23, 2024 at 8:08 pm #261397Nice save and a beautiful win. Someone let Rats know that baseball doesn’t always go as planned. In this case, I’m thankful.
July 23, 2024 at 8:09 pm #261398Well you gotta admit 1td, Skenes started out as the higher draft pick!
I also have to admit I was amazed by Skenes’ dominance at LSU and thought he was as close to a sure thing as possible. So I get where Jnevel is coming from. But yeah, he’s got a lot of climbing left to reach the Pujols-sphere.
And it’s not fair sometimes, but I guess Romero gets the W.
July 23, 2024 at 8:09 pm #261399Yeah, if baseball went as planned there’d be no need to play any of the games.
July 23, 2024 at 8:11 pm #261400They have ran into some good pitching in Pittsburgh but they desperately need to add another bat and quickly.
July 23, 2024 at 8:11 pm #261401I think we are going to need to pass the hat so good luck charm BikeMike can attend every game the rest of the way!
July 23, 2024 at 8:12 pm #261402Yeah Euro, that Skenes is pretty good, but he met his match tonight in the form of the Bavarian Bismark Beast…aka The Great White Whale…Haha!
July 23, 2024 at 8:12 pm #261403Yeah, Bikemike brought home a winner!
July 23, 2024 at 8:13 pm #261404I told you! Didn’t I tell you the Redbirds would pull this one out? Is Pugs ever wrong when he makes one of those classic predictions?
And, ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States – Bernie Sanders!
July 23, 2024 at 8:17 pm #261405You mean Bernie Carbo?
July 23, 2024 at 8:22 pm #261406Up against a tough SP’er on the road and walk away with a W in a 2-1 final after surrendering a 1-0 lead late. Pardon me for saying so, but that was the sort of game that good teams win.
July 23, 2024 at 8:25 pm #261408We should make Lance our King. bikemike co-king.
July 23, 2024 at 8:33 pm #261410Whether or not he features a decent turn, you have to acknowledge that Lynn is fun to watch. There’s something inherently entertaining about watching an old portly, beer bellied guy record outs vs. Big League hitters…Haha!
July 23, 2024 at 8:48 pm #261413I bet Lynn spends as much time in the video room as he does in the weight room. Zero.
July 23, 2024 at 8:54 pm #261414Taking a gander at Tuesday night’s late out-of-town scoreboard:
The Reds and Braves were rained out tonight down in Dixie.
The Brewers and Cubs are scoreless in the top of the 2nd at Wrigley. They also had a rain delay, this one about 90 minutes.
The Giants and Doyers are coming up later tonight at Doyer Stadium.
And as I type this the so-called experts are saying that Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are pretty much tied. Bernie Sanders is currently in 3rd place.
r/Esteemed Rat
July 23, 2024 at 9:01 pm #261415He’ll never forget tonight’s game…….because it promises to be his first ML loss.
Do we give the game ball to Pugs for his call, or BikeMike for witnessing Skenes first MLB loss in person?
