Wouldn’t that be something if DP (that’s “Daniel Ponce De Leon” to the layman) ended up being the Cardinal Ace for the next 6 or 7 years. When I was a young pup we had another “De Leon” starter….I believe his first name was “Jose”. But I think Daniel’s ceiling is a bit higher than Jose’s.

stlcard25ParticipantThe Marlins get a single to right and a broken bat squib and Martinez is having to bear down in the 8th. Rojas is your batter and he singles on an 0-2. Ugh
June 19, 2019 at 9:57 pm #95064If the Cardinals are going to win this game, one thing must happen and that is… they need to have more runs scored than the Marlins. That is my key to this game and tomorrow’s too.
June 19, 2019 at 10:01 pm #95065
stlcard25ParticipantAstute observation, Dave. Let’s hope the Cards can take your simple formula and find a way to win.
June 19, 2019 at 10:01 pm #95066I think you very well may be correct, Dave…..time will tell though. This game is over…..no way we lose this game….no way.
June 19, 2019 at 10:11 pm #95067I’d like to see Goldy walk it off just to see his reaction when they throw the bucket of Gatorade on him… oh and yeah, it would be Cardinal victory. That would be great too.
June 19, 2019 at 10:13 pm #95068
stlcard25ParticipantYet another one barely foul. Seriously, this team feels cursed. Brice threw three fat pitches to Goldy and he didn’t make him pay at all.
June 19, 2019 at 10:14 pm #95070
stlcard25ParticipantAnd with that, I’m off to bed. I feel the exact opposite of Pugs…that this one will end badly for the Cards. I really really hope that he’s right and I’m wrong. Guess I’ll see in the morning. Bring home a win, y’all.
June 19, 2019 at 10:15 pm #95071My wish list:
-A new 1st baseman
-A new 2nd baseman
-A new 3rd baseman
-A new left fielder
-A new right fielder
-A new top flight starter
-A new skipper
-A new GM
June 19, 2019 at 10:19 pm #95073I have a feeling Matheny will be the new skipper of the Giants next year and he will take them to a division title while schildt has that same did I lock the door look.
June 19, 2019 at 10:20 pm #95074If I had the power Pugs, I would make all your wishes come true.
June 19, 2019 at 10:33 pm #95076Matheny could be the manager for the Giants or Royals next year.
June 19, 2019 at 10:34 pm #95077Thank you Dave! I don’t think I asked for too much….just some basics that we need.
June 19, 2019 at 10:36 pm #95078Bader was lost at that at bat
June 19, 2019 at 10:37 pm #95079Bases loaded no one out and nothing. So typical. Why this is a .500 team
June 19, 2019 at 10:37 pm #95080Bases loaded no outs, no runs. That hurts.
June 19, 2019 at 10:37 pm #95081Brutal
June 19, 2019 at 10:38 pm #95082I feel like a masochist turning these games on
June 19, 2019 at 10:41 pm #95083It’s gonna be great when they send ponce down and wacha keeps pitching
June 19, 2019 at 10:42 pm #95084Great catch by Bader
June 19, 2019 at 10:42 pm #95085This cardinal offense begs for a new word word to be added to the dictionary because right now there are no words to define this.
June 19, 2019 at 10:42 pm #95086
stlcard25ParticipantOk, so I stayed up to watch the 10th. That was disgraceful. This team deserves to lose after that sham.
Knowing how awful Bader is against breaking pitches, wouldn’t a squeeze have at least been worth a shot with none out? Worst case, you make an out at home and still have the runner at 3rd chance to drive a run in.
June 19, 2019 at 10:42 pm #95087Another reason they’re a 500 team is that only one starter hits above 260
June 19, 2019 at 10:44 pm #95089
stlcard25ParticipantYamamoto with the pinch hit K. Maybe they’ll keep him in to throw another 7 shutout innings tonight.
June 19, 2019 at 10:45 pm #95090Another reason they’re a 500 team is that only one starter hits above 260
I owe Mabry an apology. This is a new year and there are still way to many strikeouts and well poor batting averages.
