StL 2019 Game 74 thread: Wed 6/19 vs. Marlins

Wouldn’t that be something if DP (that’s “Daniel Ponce De Leon” to the layman) ended up being the Cardinal Ace for the next 6 or 7 years. When I was a young pup we had another “De Leon” starter….I believe his first name was “Jose”. But I think Daniel’s ceiling is a bit higher than Jose’s.

The Marlins get a single to right and a broken bat squib and Martinez is having to bear down in the 8th. Rojas is your batter and he singles on an 0-2. Ugh

If the Cardinals are going to win this game, one thing must happen and that is… they need to have more runs scored than the Marlins. That is my key to this game and tomorrow’s too.

I’d like to see Goldy walk it off just to see his reaction when they throw the bucket of Gatorade on him… oh and yeah, it would be Cardinal victory. That would be great too.

Yet another one barely foul. Seriously, this team feels cursed. Brice threw three fat pitches to Goldy and he didn’t make him pay at all.

And with that, I’m off to bed. I feel the exact opposite of Pugs…that this one will end badly for the Cards. I really really hope that he’s right and I’m wrong. Guess I’ll see in the morning. Bring home a win, y’all.

I have a feeling Matheny will be the new skipper of the Giants next year and he will take them to a division title while schildt has that same did I lock the door look.

Ok, so I stayed up to watch the 10th. That was disgraceful. This team deserves to lose after that sham.

Knowing how awful Bader is against breaking pitches, wouldn’t a squeeze have at least been worth a shot with none out? Worst case, you make an out at home and still have the runner at 3rd chance to drive a run in.
