They had no one up before the walk to Heyward.

Waino thru seven without giving up a run! Very effective despite the number of walks (yes, aided by three DP’s). This has to be his best outing in quite awhile. Will he go out to the mound in the eighth? I am guessing not.

Assuming Gant comes in … do they let him pursue a two inning save?

Certainly that will close the book on Wainwright. He has 108 pitches for 7 shutout innings, allowing 1 hit.

Waino may not have been able to avoid a bunch of walks, but he pitched around any trouble and kept the Cubs at bay. 1-0 at the stretch.

I agree 858. Gant is up and will probably start the 8th and possibly be called upon to get a 2 inning save.

Gallegos looked sharp last night, would they give him another high-leverage inning?

Waino has the towel wrap so he may come out for the 8th unless his spot comes up this inning.

If Waino does start the 8th, it may be just to 1 or 2 batters.

Christ Horton talking up Waino like he’s a reincarnated Verlander.

I was wrong. Wainwright’s book is still open.

Waino appeared to be heading back to the mound at the commercial break.

I think Schildt is doing this because Waino will have an extra day of rest with the off day tomorrow.

One pitch, one out for Waino.

Knizner looks pretty good behind the plate, and has called a solid game.

Man, that 1-2 was called a strike a lot of times already tonight.

Another walk for Wainwright…is he gonna leave him in to face the lefty Schwarber? I don’t like this one bit.

Did Ozuna overrun that ball a bit?

Goodness, is every single bullpen pitcher injured or something? If Wainwright wiggles out of this, then that will be incredible.

Ozuna hustled, but feet first was not the way to extend for the Schwarber fly. cubs now have two on, one out. Shildt is determined to win or lose with Wainwright, now at 122 pitches against Bryant.

Let’s end this inning with a dp and a loud ovation.
