Waino thru seven without giving up a run! Very effective despite the number of walks (yes, aided by three DP’s). This has to be his best outing in quite awhile. Will he go out to the mound in the eighth? I am guessing not.

Certainly that will close the book on Wainwright. He has 108 pitches for 7 shutout innings, allowing 1 hit.

Waino may not have been able to avoid a bunch of walks, but he pitched around any trouble and kept the Cubs at bay. 1-0 at the stretch.

I agree 858. Gant is up and will probably start the 8th and possibly be called upon to get a 2 inning save.

Waino has the towel wrap so he may come out for the 8th unless his spot comes up this inning.

Ozuna hustled, but feet first was not the way to extend for the Schwarber fly. cubs now have two on, one out. Shildt is determined to win or lose with Wainwright, now at 122 pitches against Bryant.
