Wong’s bunt last inning probably the best I’ve seen this year, maybe longer. Sets us apart from the AL too, so extra bueno.
Bader is really battling. If nothing else, he is wearing down Suero so he won’t be able to go another inning.
He ends up K’ing. 3-2 going to the bottom of the 6th.
Top of 6. Wander “Around” Suero on in relief for Washington….

Yadi – Fooled on one way out of the zone and you don’t see Yadi get that bamboozled very often. Nats may have something here with this youngster.
Wong – Base hit to center to prove that Suero is indeed hittable.
Bader – Wong swipes 2nd. On the 13th Suero offering of this at bat, Harrison dives for one way outside and comes away empty handed and that will do it for the Birds here in the 6th.

But I hate getting my hopes way, way up…and then dashed, all within a fingersnap. So anyway don’t listen too much to me — other people probably prefer the high-energy stylings.
Great work for Waino the last three innings, with special thanks to the Nats’ bats for being so flighty.
Waino is rolling….only 5 pitches to dispatch the Bats in the 6th. Last year at this time I never would have dreamed what he’s accomplishing a year later…where would we be without him thus far here in ’19?

Waino – Strikes out swinging, but that’s totally ok…..allowances can be made when you can pitch like he has here tonight.
Carp – I bet nobody in this entire park is happier to see Sanchez riding the pines now, than Carp. Let’s see how he takes to Mr. Sipp. Same old song and dance as Carp goes down swinging yet once again. I’m starting to think that maybe I could take a shot at pitching to Carp tonight. And Sipp gets rewarded for striking out the only two batters he’s faced by getting sent to the showers….no wonder why the Nats are where they are in the standings.

Most of the Nationals’ hits have been bloops, save for the two homers. That one by Eaton was the ultimate loopy fly that got terribly lucky.
A good outing by Adam thus far and we have a tight one. Hope the pitching can make it hold up, but I think we’ll need more runs to win. Carp is indeed having a tough time. He might have a better chance to make contact if his head wasn’t spinning around faster than his hips during his swing.

Well, 6-1/3 from Waino was decent. Just a bit unlucky on the Eaton bloop and loose with the pitch that hit Robles. Hopefully Webb can get out of the jam.
Ouch! It looked like that Waino pitch nailed Robles squarely on the right kneecap….I get all jittery just thinking about it. But Robles appears none the worse for the experience as he jogs on down to 1st. And that will do it for Waino as exits with 1 out and runners on 1st & 2nd here in the Nats 7th.
Enter Tyler Webb.
That’s what I call a Webb Gem! Induces the immediate twin killing to shut the door on Washington’s 7th inning aspirations!
Webb facing Soto with two on and one out. Who’s nervous? Hmmm, not me. Webb gets out of the jam on one pitch with the DP. Gotta love that.
It’d be nice to finally score against their pen. I think this might be the inning with the heart of the order up in 8th.
Top of 8. Bearclaw still on for Washington.
DeJong – Whacks it deep to center….Robles, wobbly kneecap and all, drifts over into right field and has it right at the base of the wall for the out. It even looked like DeJong hit that ball not too far off the handle, which is pretty impressive on his part.
Marcell – Whiffs.
JMart – Just thinking….has Kieboom at short been involved in one play tonight? He could just as easily been inside the clubhouse playing video games while the Nats were on defense. Jose walks.
