2 longest games I’ve ever been to

An interleague game vs the tigers. I think it went 15 innings

And actually a game at Chase Field vs. the D’backs opening week in 2013. They said good morning as I left.

This is the longest game I’ve ever watched other than the Oquendo game.

    WTF was that Shildt?

    Just a boneheaded move!

We might be in the WC after that mess.

Good move there, intentionally walk the batter to get to the guy who already has three hits since the ninth inning.

I guess 19 innings will make a manager go brain dead. Sorry to insult all the brain dead people in America, but I don’t know how else to describe Shildt tonight. He was an idiot more than once.

How many more ways are there to score from 3rd compared to 2nd base?

And my god those announcers. I never heard such inane babbling. They are usually awful but tonight they outdid themselves with nonsense.

Well, that was painful to read. I obviously didn’t stay up, but that’s a reason why you need someone to finally stop laying down for the Brewers. It’s practically criminal what the offense does when Flaherty pitches. Chewing up the bullpen could come back to cost us dearly. And it looks like Gant and Brebbia are going in the dumpster at just the wrong time. Blech

    My wish list for tonight:

    1. Cards win
    2. Brewers win
    3. Nats win twice
    4. Cubs lose

I’ve experienced this phenomenon many times…the less important things all line up, only for the most important thing to fail. The tiny remote chance of the Cubs making the playoff wasn’t worth rooting for the Brew Crew to have a shot to gain a game on us. Cards can go no worse than 2-2 in their last 4 as the Brewers will win today and probably the Reds will hand them one in Castillo’s game if they don’t decide to shut him down.

Cards need to get casualty insurance on Gant. He has really put a large dent in his stock lately. 25-man play-off spot in jeopardy.

To have all the starters play 19 is one thing to lose the game is another.

Can somebody please beat the Brewers…. we look like we can’t win it ourselves. 🙁

Lol with the Ponce travel map, BlackHills! Boy, this game finished so late that the box score obviously won’t make it’s way into my morning newspaper today, but I’m not so sure it’ll even make the deadline for tomorrow’s paper. A shout out to the esteemed Euro Dandy, Booyah and Carter for seeing this game to it’s lousy conclusion. It looks like Wooster hung in there pretty good, but konked out just after 2am.

Yeah Pugs, was hoping to wake up and see we won. Oh well guess we will have to win it by ourselves. We definitely can do it. Alot of strikeouts last night and a game that could have been won twice. Well got one more in Arizona but I will be checking the score, gotta go to a middle school volleyball game. Go Cardinals- and Tigers!

I went to bed early and started dosing off while watching the game… so I just turned it off and thought if I wake up in the middle of the night… I’ll just check the score.

Well… I woke up… so I turned on the FoxSportsgo app on my phone to see what happened. Lo and behold.. the game was still on, in the 11th inning with a 1 to 1 score.

So I continued watching. When Goldie hit his homerun to go ahead 2 to 1… I thought.. good… three outs and we put this in the win column.

Well…. when the next inning came on and I saw that Gant was going to Pitch… I immediately cringed and said NO!!!!!!!!!! Not GANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well my fears were answered… he let a run score and now were tied up again 2 to 2. Grrrrrr!!!! Please put Gant out to Pasture and don’t bring him back until next season, IF he is still around.

As far as the end of the game… I really do believe that Shildt did what he did on purpose, to end the game. My reasoning for this… it was 3:30ish or so (my time) when the game ended.
They have a day game this afternoon. They were going through the bullpen like crazy wearing everybody out. We have more games to play and need fresh players… and there is more at stake for us… compared to Arizona. So I think he did it… to start getting players rested.

Yes.. Arizona will have tired players today also… but they don’t have a post season to worry about like the Cards do.

That’s just my thoughts on it.

I had to bail out at 2am but I highly expected them to lose this game. You can’t have 2 blown saves in the same game.

It is all going to work out. We are still in a much stronger position than the Crew.

And BTW, who I was rooting for has zero determination on the outcome.

I agree. It just seems odd to root for something that negatively impacts your team. I know your reasoning, but I’m rooting for every Brewers loss possible. Maybe it helps that I find the Brewers to be so annoyingly mediocre and lucky that they’re a very very slight #2 in the “teams I hate” rankings.

After the events of last night the Cubs are within a whisker of being officially eliminated so I am not worried about them anymore. I am definitely on board with the Crew losing from here on out and I expect they will. I don’t think they can run the table at Cincinnati and at Colorado.

Jack gives us another gem and the popcorn hitting Cards offer no support for him yet again. This is why I have little faith in this team going anywhere as they just cannot hit. How they are winning this division with these batting averages is in itself amazing.
Mo will do nothing in the offseason to fix this issue as he is happy with this years results.
