    Minuteman, I have no dislike for Edman. I think he is a good player and is providing a spark. However, I look at his hitting line and see an average hitter with an average OBP and not a lot of power, just a little power. He would make a good starter at 2B or CF or a good super sub. He does not move the needle at corner INF or corner OF. If Carpenter’s swing gets straightened out, he makes a better starter at 3B. However, that is not going to happen this year.

    The funny thing about all this is Edman is making some starts in the OF while Arozarena has sat on the bench. Arozarena is less than 3 months older than Edman and has hit better than Edman in the minors. Arozarena is said to be one of the fastest players in the system, also. Randy also has shown an elite OBP in the minors.

    1. Edman started RF because he can bat from the left side.
    2. Edman starts every day somewhere in the line-up.

    Are they trying to set a record for swinging strikeout on pitches in the dirt? Must be an extremely tough pitch to pickup.
