Ozuna = en fuego (if you don’t count defense).
April 14, 2019 at 5:27 pm #87380
stlcard25ParticipantC’mon, Dex…put this one outta reach!
April 14, 2019 at 5:28 pm #87381All three of our guys who have errors or defensive misplays also have hit bombs today.
April 14, 2019 at 5:29 pm #87382
stlcard25ParticipantWell, the seeing eye single is alright. Bases now juiced for Kolten Wong.
April 14, 2019 at 5:33 pm #87383
stlcard25ParticipantBig matchup here with former Cardinal Zach Duke and it’s 3-0… now a 4 pitch walk makes it 7-4 with Cafecito coming up!
April 14, 2019 at 5:34 pm #87384Maybe everybody else already knows this, but I just heard O’Neill got the start because Bader has a hamstring issue.
April 14, 2019 at 5:37 pm #87385
stlcard25ParticipantJose with a smoked single up the middle plates two! 9-4 Cards.
April 14, 2019 at 5:38 pm #87386
stlcard25ParticipantCan Marp make two long balls this inning? He digs in…and hits one into the shift to end the inning.
April 14, 2019 at 5:41 pm #87389Mexico Series observation: "Cuadrangular" and "jonrón" sound so much cooler than "home run". For an extensive Spanish-English Baseball Dictionary, check this out. Proud to have offered suggestions in its formative stage. https://t.co/xfkrXuCmc6

April 14, 2019 at 5:41 pm #87390No sé a decisao de dejar Wong bate. Mas ele succudio. Penso q Gyrko seria mejor opcao.
April 14, 2019 at 5:42 pm #87391Even when the Reds tied it up with 4 runs in the 5th, was there ever really a doubt who was going to win this game?
April 14, 2019 at 5:44 pm #87392
stlcard25ParticipantLeone got away with one as Ervin nearly hit a jack. Instead, it goes foul and Dominic K’s him on a full count.
April 14, 2019 at 5:46 pm #87394
stlcard25ParticipantDown goes another as Leone Ks Winker on a check swing.
April 14, 2019 at 5:47 pm #87395Brian now chimes in with a little Espanol…..sweet! And Carioca is hereby designated The King of Spanish! Next to your’s truly, Carioca may very well be the most Spanish fluent gringo I’ve ever met. It would have been an absolute hoot to do this game thread entirely in Spanish. Next time we go to Mexico, we must for sure do one.
April 14, 2019 at 5:57 pm #87396
stlcard25ParticipantGallegos is coming in. Pretty cool moment for him.
April 14, 2019 at 6:13 pm #873979-4 should’ve been easy, but Miller opens the door for the Reds. Hicks coming in now for a 4-out save.
April 14, 2019 at 6:13 pm #87398
stlcard25ParticipantGallegos and Miller can’t get out of the inning, so Hicks is in to close the 8th out.
April 14, 2019 at 6:15 pm #87399
stlcard25ParticipantHicks’ breaking ball broke a little too much and now the bases are loaded. Tying run is at the plate for the Reds.
April 14, 2019 at 6:16 pm #87400Now Hicks opens the door even wider and hits the first batter, my goodness. Tying run to the plate. Just bring in Brebbia and be done with it already (sort of sarcastic here).
April 14, 2019 at 6:20 pm #87401Whew, Hick puts out the fire without further damage. 9-5 going to the 9th.
April 14, 2019 at 6:20 pm #87402
stlcard25ParticipantHicks gets the grounder, so no more damage done. On to the 9th.
April 14, 2019 at 6:25 pm #87403With Giovanny Gallegos up with #stlcards, the next two closest Mexican natives (and former Mexican Leaguers) in the system are at Memphis: RHR Jesus Cruz (just promoted from AA) and 40-man roster IF Ramon Urias. The latter's brother Luis is a top Padres prospect.

April 14, 2019 at 6:25 pm #87404Molina, Mexico, and bad luck BABIP evidently go hand in hand.
April 14, 2019 at 6:31 pm #87405
stlcard25ParticipantVotto with the hit with one out. A Hicks GIDP would be nice here.
April 14, 2019 at 6:32 pm #87406
stlcard25ParticipantWell, there we go! Needed a run down to get it but that’s a winner! 9-5 Cards, as they go to 9-6 on the season.
