Edman triples in Molina! Yeah baby!
September 4, 2019 at 9:20 pm #105131Yeah, I know Bike Mike. And its funny, I even thought about Fred Merkle but didn’t figure anybody on the forum would probably know what I was talking about.
But still, what a tee-total complete idiotic move in the midst of a pennant race.
September 4, 2019 at 9:20 pm #105132Bader sac fly, drives Edman in. One more run and tie game again! Ravelo pinch hit single, Cardinals are lookin scrappy!
September 4, 2019 at 9:24 pm #105134Dexter singles between 1sr and 2nd, infiekd single. No play safe at 1st + 2nd. Chased the pitcher!
September 4, 2019 at 9:24 pm #105135Yep, that it was Rat. Dan and Tim were speculating on whether or not the second base umpire may have impacted DeJong’s concentration a bit. Hard to say. You just hope we don’t look back on that wonder “what if?”.
Meanwhile the club is making a furious push to tie the game again.

stlcard25ParticipantDown one with 2nd and 3rd and two outs…now’s when we need Goldy to come through. Will he??
September 4, 2019 at 9:29 pm #105137Wonder if Kolten soft hit that to move those guys over?
September 4, 2019 at 9:30 pm #105138Like that aggressiveness of Goldy, going after the first pitch when he saw one he could put a good swing on.
September 4, 2019 at 9:31 pm #105139Go Goldy, love it! Scrappy goes a long ways!
September 4, 2019 at 9:32 pm #105140We have done everything wrong tonight, and we have the lead. That is why you always want to advance the runners. Now that we have the lead, are we going to use legitimate pitchers and get the win?
September 4, 2019 at 9:32 pm #105141Need some shut down pitching now!
September 4, 2019 at 9:38 pm #105142This young Yaz kid is pretty good.
September 4, 2019 at 9:49 pm #105143Yeah he was good last night too. They’re gonna have to watch out for him tonight. Lets get some insurance runs
September 4, 2019 at 9:54 pm #105144Trick pitcher waitin for him to fall over on his face. DeJong dodges himself to 2nd!
September 4, 2019 at 9:55 pm #105145He is better as a Pro than he was at Vanderbilt. I never thought he would make it this far.
September 4, 2019 at 10:05 pm #105147I just don’t get bringing in Carp to replace Edman. It’s the 8th inning with a lead. Defense is the priority!
September 4, 2019 at 10:06 pm #105148man, Gallegos grooved that one.
September 4, 2019 at 10:07 pm #105149Now Gallegos gives up a bomb and the lead. Has it turned midnight for him? Too much sloppiness tonight to deserve a win.
September 4, 2019 at 10:08 pm #105150The two strengths of our team, defense and bullpen, have been atrocious tonight.
Will have to win it with the bats.
September 4, 2019 at 10:10 pm #105151Seems like this guy’s name should be Joseph Corban.

stlcard25ParticipantNow Gallegos gives up a bomb and the lead. Has it turned midnight for him?
It’s not possible to be as good as he has been permanently. He’s a good pitcher but we’ve probably seen the absolute best case scenario for him in the middle of this season.
September 4, 2019 at 10:16 pm #105154Why is the stadium half empty? They may have sold 41k tickets but there are a lot of no shows or people left early.
September 4, 2019 at 10:16 pm #105155Dan and Tim were speculating on whether or not the second base umpire may have impacted DeJong’s concentration a bit.
It’s hard to blame the ump. The easiest and obvious play was to go to 2B and that’s what the ump was probably anticipating. He’s got to move somewhere.
DeJong’s focus seems off a bit defensively lately. He didn’t snare the liner earlier tonight. During the Reds series, he forced a guy at 2B on a bases loaded grounder with one out when it was obvious he didn’t have time to turn two. He could’ve easily thrown out the lead runner at the plate to prevent a run. It could be a simple matter of reminding himself before each pitch what the easiest and best play to make will be when he fields a grounder, liner, etc.
September 4, 2019 at 10:23 pm #105157Just pulled up game on ESPN on the computer- no TV. We just had 1st and 3rd with 1 out and now runner at 3rd and 2 outs. Review that ended up with Wong out instead of safe?
September 4, 2019 at 10:23 pm #105158This game is still in contention, it could go either way
