Let’s hope Wong is blossoming in to the kind of a player we envisioned as he was breezing his way thru the system. These California stiffs ran roughshod over us when we were in the Bay earlier this year. Our boys should exact revenged in this series. Waino through 7 shutout innings on 96 pitches. That’s exactly what we needed today, and I’m a little surprised that we got it. Now let’s make it more comfortable on the pen here after the stretch!
Waino should never start a game on the road ever again. And why not? Some of our long in the tooth broadcasters over the years have only worked home games…..why not Waino?? The pen’s job didn’t get any easier as the Cards failed to score Edman from 3B with one out. Wong gave it a good try, but a nice diving catch by Pillar ends the inning. On to the 8th.
