What a catch by BADER!!! He’s back folks!
August 20, 2019 at 8:40 pm #103114Geesh this Gant looks like a tall glass of water. He should be starting for the Knicks….they sure could use the help.

stlcard25ParticipantThe shift cost the Cards that run there. Thames hits it where they ain’t and it’s a tie ball game.
August 20, 2019 at 8:47 pm #103116Gant was money earlier this year. Wonder what happened?
August 20, 2019 at 8:47 pm #103117
stlcard25ParticipantThe Brewers are highly annoying with all these two out hits. Even more so since the Cards can’t seem to get any of them.
August 20, 2019 at 8:49 pm #103118I guess the hook is short for Helsley. All he did was give up a hit to Yelich on a pretty good pitch. Also, the defensive alignment looked strange with Thames. If you’re going to drop Wong that far back and over to the 1B line, doesn’t DeJong have to be moved over more? And then they pitched Thames outside to make it easier to go up the middle.
Gant needs to get it together now.
August 20, 2019 at 8:50 pm #103119Gant cant, get anybody out
August 20, 2019 at 8:50 pm #103120I thought they kept Gant in one batter too long. Didn’t know if they should pull Helsley when they did either. But I’m also saying these things after everythingg played out…
August 20, 2019 at 8:50 pm #103121Cards have missed on a few opportunities to score … Brewers capitalize here. Cards need Webb to shut this down now!

stlcard25ParticipantAnother two out hit. An early morning for me with a busy work day so that’s all for me for this game. Hoping to wake up to a win but not expecting to.
August 20, 2019 at 8:52 pm #103123Crew seize a 2-1 advantage on their third consecutive 2 out hit here in the 6th…..and t hst will signal the end to Mr. Gant’s evening. Maybe we could work out a trade with the Knicks for him? We have enough point guards….I think a nice power forward to bop some long ones might be nice.
August 20, 2019 at 8:52 pm #103124If my scan of his game log is correct, tonight was the first time in his 12 career MLB appearances that Ryan Helsley took the mound with the #stlcards ahead. He departed after 1 1/3 innings with the tying run on second after Yelich doubled. Gant then yielded the lead.

August 20, 2019 at 8:54 pm #103125Webb earns his keep. We need to show Milwaukee who’s boss and get those 2 runs right back….maybe 3.
August 20, 2019 at 9:00 pm #103126Ozuna gets the 6th started out right with a single. Now PDJ is HBP. Two on, no outs.
Pugs, let us know if you spot the blonde again, and pass along precise seat location. She might become known as the rally blonde.
August 20, 2019 at 9:01 pm #103127Jeffress center stage for The Crew here in the 6th and Ozuna promptly greets him with a liner into center for a hit. Now a hit batsman puts 2 Birds on the bases for Yadi. A rare infield hit loads the bases to the gills! No outs. And we must now unfortunately bid farewell to Jeremy Jeffress…bye bye Jeremy….sleep tight.
August 20, 2019 at 9:04 pm #103128If you are going to pull your starter early you have to have the courage to let your long guys go multiple innings.
August 20, 2019 at 9:04 pm #103129Yeah she’s been missing in action for 3 innings now, Euro…..oh she just got back! Sitting right over the “L” in the DEWALT sign. Where does a woman in Busch go for 3 full innings all by herself at a night game?
August 20, 2019 at 9:06 pm #103130Am I a pessimistic fan or does it just feel like the odds are stacked against this team to score even with the bases loaded and no one out?
August 20, 2019 at 9:07 pm #103131Bad AB by Wong with the bases loaded and no outs. Now Bader is up. This isn’t exactly where he excelled before being optioned. Hopefully he won’t swing wildly at the garbage and watch the fat one like Wong did.
August 20, 2019 at 9:09 pm #103132Oh my….our little chickadee is chomping on munchies like a crazed dog …..not as attractive as I originally thought.
August 20, 2019 at 9:10 pm #103133I love it. Bader has walked twice tonight. New found plate discipline? This time he forces in the tying run.
August 20, 2019 at 9:12 pm #103134Bader needs to be careful not to pass Yadi on the bases if Carp gaps one.
August 20, 2019 at 9:14 pm #103135Carpenter!! We may have to put him out to pasture pretty darn quick here.
August 20, 2019 at 9:15 pm #103136Carp underwhelms again. Unfortunately the bases were loaded and one out with this K. His head looks like a gyrating mess on those last two swinging misses. No wonder he didn’t make contact.
August 20, 2019 at 9:18 pm #103137Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good! I am happy for Dexter, but that play should have been made
Now the ‘Birds need the bull pen and defense to hold the Brewers down!
