Youngsters don’t get that kind of luxury. Probably don’t want him to hurt himself though
Probably got bad knees by now

I don’t understand any criticism of Edman. He is a fast player that makes the team go.

I like Edman. He hits consistently enough to play him. Hes got alot of speed on the base paths. Hes not real tall like most outfielders these days. They really do need his speed. Theres some other young promising of’s waiting thier chance too. Good problem to have.

Oh yeah, he came up as in infielder but his athleticisum allows him to play anywhere. Like O’quendo did

CIF, I have no problem with Edman playing in the infield. I think he is good there. He should never be starting in the outfield with Thomas or Arozarena sitting on the bench.

Edman just today has managed to peek his OBP over .300, yet he consistently has been put that the top of the order. He’s also not played RF since middle school and yet actual outfielders are riding the bench for him to play an experimental position.

So while I think Tommy will be a solid ballplayer in the long run, it’s probably fair to criticize Shildt at the least for how he’s handled Edman.

Nice work by Gallegos to get three outs in three pitches. Jack wasn’t at his best today, but he made enough pitches to mostly get the job done. Well done.

A better pitcher would’ve done it in two pitches. 😉

I hate to jinx him with a lot of season left, but Gallegos = money in the bank.

I like Edman in the lineup. A lot. He provides a spark that’s hard to measure that Carp doesn’t and can’t provide. Having said that, Shildt could do a better job of lineup juggling with Thomas and Arozarena vis-à-vis Edman and especially Muñoz.

Personally, I think Munoz doesn’t really have a place on this team after this year and hope they can find another home for him.

Gallegos having some issues in the 7th but just gets a big K to record the first out.

Bases loaded and Gallegos is getting pulled. That’s about as bad as he’s looked in a long time.

Miller is in to face the lefty. Getting out of this with only one run allowed would be a good outcome.

Miller faces one batter and walks him, making it 5-2

Gant in to face Cardinal killer Suarez. Uh oh.

Somebody greased Gallegos ball, Millers off target, whos next? Maybe Gant?

Magic by Gant to get out of it with just the one run. It stays 5-2 Cards

Gant has been looking better again lately. He gets through the 8th and it’s 5-2 going to the 9th!

Hope they leave him in there, like how he lives in the bottom of the strike zone

Gausman has been mowing down Cards left and right today. 6 up and 6 Ks.

A guy with a 5.90 ERA strikes out the side in both the eighth and ninth?

The criticism isn’t even against Edman. *chuckle* As I’ve said for over a week, you don’t understand the argument after its been explained over a dozen times and you’re never going to get it because you choose not to do so.

Carlos in and gives up a near homer to Iglesias. Now he’s wild facing farmer. Can’t just make it easy, can you?

Back to back base hits now, and both sounded barreled. I guess it’s Bad Carlos Day.

Rob Rains seems to agree with Euro. I missed that play, though. All I’ve seen is he didn’t hustle down the line for a grounder…which is bad, but when has he ever really hustled for a grounder?
