Hey Pugs glad you liked the drink. Had some frozen dinners the home care insurance sent us after my wife just got outta the hospital. They were ok but I’m gonna cook tomorrow! I like Klondike too but they go quick at my house. Lots of noise about Carp coming back. I will be astounded to see a hit to left field. Do you think he can do it. Imagine how good we would be with Goldy,Ozuna, Jmart and DeJong all hitting! Maybe we can win this one! I’ve got another drink for you if you wanna try it Pugs? Go Cardinals!

After your first suggestion, I’d be pretty lame not to take you up on that Wooster. It seems that half the board is scrambling out to their local Piggy Wiggly store to grab a box or two of Klondikes, thanks to Rat raving about them. Also, very nice to see Cards25 weighing in on his super supper this evening.
Great post by ATripleShy! It looks like first pitch is right around the corner. Let’s drill these guys! 5-0 head-to-head vs these divisional leaders would be mighty mighty sweet.
August 5, 2019 at 9:30 pm #101048Terrible start as Bellinger clobbers a three-run home run before Wacha could collect an out.
August 5, 2019 at 9:35 pm #101049Carp Ks to start the game and Wacha gives up a 3-run HR in the opening frame. These are the two hills the Cards’ brass decided they want to die on.
August 5, 2019 at 9:37 pm #101050Yeah starts in abolut 30 minutes, looks like we have some power guys but they gotta hit. That drink is orange juice mixed with Dr. Pepper. It looks like mud but it tastes pretty good. You can tell your wife you’re drinking river water! Go Cardinals!
August 5, 2019 at 9:40 pm #101051Bellinger has the hot hand lately.Wacha may need to pitch around him.
August 5, 2019 at 9:41 pm #101052The end of season collapse appears to be right on cue.
August 5, 2019 at 10:06 pm #101054Repeating: Odds are high that Ozuna will not be returning in 2020.
Pretty sure you’ve got some sort of source inside The Kremlin.
I think the front office has been turned off by the return they got in the trade and other little things. Plus I wasn’t all that confident this wasn’t anything but a 2 year deal to begin with. Still he should be tendered a QO if the baseball gods deem him worthy of one.
August 5, 2019 at 10:11 pm #101055Ouch!
August 5, 2019 at 10:11 pm #101056I am sure he will not be back. Salary constraints, among other things, are dictating it. I still would like to see them try to sign him since his bat will not be replaced on next year’s team. He is more productive than he is given credit for.
August 5, 2019 at 10:14 pm #101057If the FO doesn’t resign him and does nothing to replace his offensive production (and no I’m not talking about bringing up one of the OF prospects) there will be an actual riot.
August 5, 2019 at 10:18 pm #101058I wonder if that will be Wacha’s last inning. He threw around 35 pitches in the 3rd and is up to 69 for the game.
August 5, 2019 at 10:19 pm #101059There are some who believe that O’Neill could replace Ozuna.

Who replaces Bader in CF if he can’t figure things out?
August 5, 2019 at 10:26 pm #101061There’s still Fowler and Martinez for CF and RF. Even Munoz and Edman. (Blue font intended)
August 5, 2019 at 10:29 pm #101062There’s still Fowler and Martinez for CF and RF.
Where’s a good grimacing meme/gif when you need one?
August 5, 2019 at 10:31 pm #101063Well the Dodgers won the first half of this game. Wacha gives up another dinger. Its way too easy for them playing us. Still waiting for our guys to wake up. We look like a bunch if minor leaguers.
August 5, 2019 at 10:35 pm #101064If the FO doesn’t resign him and does nothing to replace his offensive production (and no I’m not talking about bringing up one of the OF prospects) there will be an actual riot.
But this is the most likely scenario. They’ve already shown at the deadline they didn’t want to part with the trade chips to make something happen and we already know most of the experts feel the organization is thin on pitching prospects. They burned themselves a bit with bad contracts and extensions to aging veteran and players who they felt they had to sign. They made trades that flat out in most instances just haven’t worked out. Right now I think the organization is gun shy and may very well play guys like Thomas, Arazorena, O’Neill and maybe Edman in some form.
Lol Mejia in! Wacha might have one more start but he’s on a stay of execution currently. Might be pitching for his spot in the organization next time out.
August 5, 2019 at 10:36 pm #101065And meanwhile, the cubs win again, 6-5 over the A’s. David Phelps, a reliever who was acquired via trade just several days ago, and oddly enough was actually activated instead of being placed on the 60-day IL, came in with two runners on base in the 9th to record the save. How do teams do that?
August 5, 2019 at 10:36 pm #101066There’s still Fowler and Martinez for CF and RF.
August 5, 2019 at 10:46 pm #101069That emotion is why I think they should re-sign Ozuna. I would like to see if Arozarena can move up to the majors next year but he can’t replace Ozuna’s bat.
The best thing that could happen is re-sign Ozuna, trade Fowler and Martinez and sign Cole. Maybe even trade Carlos for a top prospect from someone. Although I give the odds at less than 0.1%.
August 5, 2019 at 10:50 pm #101070Meanwhile, Wong collects the first hit off of Nolan Ryan with 2 outs in the Cardinals half of the 5th. However, he gets stranded on 2nd when Wieters strikes out.
August 5, 2019 at 10:59 pm #101071That was a bad set of defensive plays by Fowler and MArtinez.
Mejia sucks! This is the FO throwing any crap at the wall and seeing if it sticks.
August 5, 2019 at 11:00 pm #101072Keystone Kops outfield of Fowler and JMart strike for some high comedy in the 5th. Orel sounded like he was trying not to laugh when he said “a couple of slightly embarrassing plays” for the Cards.
But hey, they’ve gotta pitch to Fowler and JMart too, pal.
August 5, 2019 at 11:03 pm #101073Mejia…. great trade deadline Mo
