Please tell me Thomas will play start some games. An outfield of Fowler and Martinez will send to the store for Tums.

Both Waino and the cubs have two things in common here in 2019. They both love home cooking and are downright sickly on the road. Thru 2 frames Waino has not allowed a ball to leave the infield and half his outs are strike outs.

Have an old home on Santa Monica Blvd. in Whitefish Bay, but spend most of my time now at my wife’s home in Madison (Sun Prairie), Wisconsin. How about you, Black Hills?

Pitchin and defense so far, feels like a tight one, Waino looks good. That sounds like a good one to me Mr. Pugs , my kind of dinner!

Thanks Wooster & Black Hills! Boy that dinner tonight was a hit. I’m starting to think doubleheader and having the exact meal again tomorrow…..but the wifey probably won’t have any part of that. Let’s get some runs!!

Not a half bad call, Wooster! Wooster called for two 4th inning runs and the Birds respond with 1 to tie matters up.

Next year the Cards need to plant O’Neill out in left and just keep him there the entire season. I think all will be happy…..except our opposition.

Oh oh…..Waino Walks his counterpart, but luckily there were 2 outs and nobody occupying a base. He needs to quickly dispatch Garcia so not to tack on a bunch of additional pitches thst didn’t have to occur. Whiffs Garcia.

Marcell with an rbi base knock in Memphis tonight. Is Carp really 0-21 in his rehab stint?

well hopefully the home dominance will continue this series. as usual I wont be watching the cards paly the cubs but ill keep up on the score. in other news, seems like that’s it for gyorko in a cards uniform. he obviously isn’t injured at least enough to put on a long disabled list. it is sad. I do think its time for him to go but still sad.

Don’t know about where Gyorko is headed. Actually like him. But I wouldn’t be too sad about any MLB players. Those guys make plenty of money as long as they don’t blow it. More than you or me will ever make. Go Cardinals!

The sound off Wieters’ bat said “another solo jack”, but unfortunately it just made it’s way out to the centerfield track. Waino whiffs and now it’s time for Edman to get things rolling for us. “Whirling” Darvish with 8 K’s thru just 5 innings and we don’t need him getting hot for them in this pennant chase….can we say “pennant chase” this early? Edman raps a base hit to right to keep the flame a flickering here in the 5th with 2 outs. Now Edman swipes 2nd base with the ease of taking candy from a baby….a very small baby at that. Time for Dexter to deliver vs his old mates. Fowler strikes out swinging.

HEY HEY! HOME RUN ERNIE BANKS!!!

You guys remember seeing that across the channel 9 (WGN) screen when we were kids. How did their song go….”hey hey holy mackerel, no doubt about it….the cubs are on their wayyy”. Forgot the rest of the words. Even though our Cards were pretty lousy in the 70’s, seeing our red Cardinal uniforms in Wrigley back then on tv, would send an excited shiver right down my spine. I still cherish our team, but I would love to recapture that excitement from that era….and then of course from the 80’s when we became special.

Cleveland-Cincy-SD involved in a big trade…..Puig and Bauer the principals…..details should be forthcoming. I wish we could get involved in a blockbuster deal!

Bases loaded to the gills with cubbies with 2 outs in the 6th. Gallegos on his way to the rescue….and I feel pretty darn good about that

    Gallegos has some filthy stuff!
Schwarber flies out to left and Gallegos keeps passing test after test after test. Tell you what….if I was a teacher and Gallegos was my student, at this point in the school year, I would just blindly without looking, just put a big ole’ “A” on each test that he took. That’s how sure I am of the guy.

From what I understand, the Reds and Pirates were involved in quite a donnybrook (that’s “fight” for all of you in Elgin)……with Puig right in the middle of it while not being informed that he was actually an Indian. May be the best thing for Cincy as Puig may have started swinging at guys in red uniforms if he had known that he actually wasn’t one of them any longer. Sports Center should be good tonight.

I only have been able to watch a short bit of this one. It would be nice to score a few more runs off the Cubs’ porous bullpen and win going away.

    Walks make me nervous.

Me too, 1964Cards….especially at night if I’m in the big city for the weekend. I’ve never been to Baltimore, but I guess that town has really gone downhill. Oh oh…..infield hit puts 2 cubs aboard. But Gallegos comes thru again as he induces Bryant into flying meekly to right to end the inning.
