Burly flashing a little speed on the base paths…….the cubs catcher didn’t even bother trying to throw him out. 50 yard dash between Burly and Victor Scott…….flip a coin as to who wins.

OK we’ve held these guys to just 1 run in 16 innings. Keep it under 4 runs in 18 innings and all will be good.

Would’ve been nice to get the force at 2B, but with a 3 run lead, Whetherholt played it smart.

Nice work from Romero to escape the 8th after he made me say some really bad words…

Let’s hope Riley is bringing his A game with him tonight. No free passes and we win this puppy.

Yeah, Pugs, he’s best when he aggressively goes after hitters.

O’Riley needs to know he’s protecting a 3 run lead. No reason at all to get fancy.

Riley didn’t bring his A game……he brought his AAA+ game. 3-0 your glorious final.

And more good news from out west in the desert as the Dbacks hold on for a 4-3 W over the Brewers.

Well we have outscored the Cubs 20-1 in this series so far. Might as well get the sweep tomorrow.

We all know this Cardinal team doesn’t have a lot of proven, established talent but my goodness these guys are fun to watch. These young players are not intimidated and are so resilient. Just when it looks like they may let go of the rope they get back up and fight again. They don’t know how to give up.

    It has been very inspiring.

    Very entertaining game….again.
Loved seeing Pages throw PCA out trying to
    steal.
Loved the way Oli managed the game like it was a must win.
    Excellent defense….. and offense.

These kids continue to impress. They’ve been put to the test after featuring short stretches of lackluster games on several occasions this season and each time they’ve answered the bell with some first rate baseball. This road trip has so far proven to be their best example of a baseball team that refuses to pack it in. These youngsters seem to really enjoy collecting W’s.

One of my all time favorite lines in film is from “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, World” when Jimmy Durante, playing the role of bank heister “Smiler Grogan,” utters with his last dying breath the words, “It’s buried under the big W”…Haha!

Great movie! Durante literally kicks the bucket as he utters his last words.

Did not see the game but watched the condensed versions this morning. That fog looked really intense for awhile. You could read the players lips saying, “We can’t see.”

But in the end we saw a shutout. Can we bring the brooms today? Tough to do, but it’s been done.
